Hickory: Where and when did I make such a suggestion?
Just like you didn't start with personal insults by calling me not a real NWN fan
avatar
keeveek: I'm not talking about modules in general, only about Premium Modules that were previously licensed and sold.

but you may be onto something - maybe Beamdog doesn't try to force NWN Vault to delete premium modules from the website because they want to be on nice terms with NWN Vault and hope mode scene is going to upload modules on Workshop
Certainly cheaper than hosting the mods themselves, and it paves the way for a NWN2:EE modding community too.

richlind33: I'm just pointing out that "premium module" is a misnomer. They're OK, but definitely *not* must-have.
avatar
keeveek: Not debating that. I only address the comment that since Bioware once put it on their website for free it doesn't mean it's freeware nor the product licensing has changed in any way.
That has to be asserted by someone with legal standing, and those "premium modules" aren't worth the trouble.

Rather unlikely, sadly.

I made a comment, not an insult.

I say again, where and when did I make such a suggestion? Tell me.

Goodbye. I also found multiple threads with people trying to explain to you why premium modules aren't freeware. If you didn't manage to do that for two years, how possibly could you understand it now?

You said that I said: "Beamdog is trying to "scam" people into buying something that's free" Nothing could be further from the truth, in this thread or that other one. I said, in the other one, that Beamdog uses shitty practices, which they do. THAT is undeniable. You are throwing accusations about willy-nilly, and you're looking quite silly.

Nobody has ever tried to explain to me that premium modules are not freeware. I know perfectly well that they are not freeware. It's why they're called 'premium' modules. DUH!
Got an email about a wishlist sale, and decided to answer this and fix errors in a recent post while I was here. At least now that I've eaten and slept a few times since then, I don't think I'll be as tempted to lace this message with cursing and personal insults.

Linko90: Additionally, at no point did I threaten to close anything!
When you said "don't do that" as a gog.com team member, you made an implicit threat: Don't do that, or else ... If you don't want people to guess what that threat is, make it explicit. I guessed at a threat based on past observations. Leaving it implicit just makes it convenient to lie about it later, when you are called out on it.

Linko90: Given the OP requested mod attention, I find your reaction a bit over the top.
It doesn't surprise me that the OP requested mod attention. The fact that guessing at a release date requires factoring in the motivations of both gog and Beamdog, and therefore will always attract Beamdog criticism seems beyond the OP. There are already at least 4 threads on this topic that I can find in the NWN subforum (where this sort of thing belongs, anyway) without even trying, but OP explicitly stated that this thread will be different: no Beamdog criticism allowed. When faeries didn't appear to make this reality, the cops were called instead. The fact that you readily agreed to shut down the conversation pisses me off almost as much as your claim that you didn't make a threat (yeah, yeah, you didn't say you didn't make any threat, just not the threat I guessed at, and without actually clarifying the threat).

All this, and I didn't even diss on Beamdog at all in any of my postings, and even consider some of the anti-Beamdog posts to be in poor taste and unrelated to the topic. Of course I also consider "they fixed my intel graphics issues" to be misplaced, but you didn't ask for those posts to be removed.

This is not the first time you have pissed me off, and it isn't even the first time I've called you on it. Given that you are the voice of gog on the forum, I don't think abandoning the forum while you are still here is over the top at all.

If you have issues with moderation feel free to PM me.

As a second reminder, please stay on topic.

If a thread is being derailed, I remind users to stay on topic. Most users understand this. If they do not, they are met with moderation.

Hope that clears things up.

You're cute. I decide to attempt to keep a conversation civil and on-topic and you want to insult my intelligence and deride the moderator for attempting to do the same. If people want to bitch, cry and moan about how Beamdog is ruining your favorite classic games by re-releasing them, there are places for that. This is not one of those, and the general whining isn't wanted (at least by me). I'm not saying I love Beamdog or anything, but I want to buy their game here. I'm sure others do too. If you read my original post, you'd see this thread was for gathering any news I managed to miss, and to help organize a move to get the game here if people were interested in doing so.

I asked for the thread to be locked for going off topic. Linko refused.I asked that the thread be kept civil, and people failed. So of course I requested something be done. If civil conversation pisses you off so much, why even post in a thread aimed a civil conversation? Since you weren't even the one the comments were directed at to begin with, why even get involved?
Seems like you just want to be a shit-stirrer. Go stir elsewhere.

When you request something that you know is unlikely to happen, it raises questions about your own motivations. You might want to stop and think about that before you call other people's motives into question.
It certainly does not help that this is not the first thread asking the same thing about NWN EE and getting the same responses and defensive posts as the numerous threads before, As of now there is no news of NWN EE from either GOG or beamdog . Given their past confusion as to who was to blame for the bundling of the classics , it might take a while.

I can't wait for the NWN EE release on GOG , if only to hear all those bursting butts.
