Not sure what to make of this. I hope it's only a select few (Eric Fenstermaker, and of course we know MCA is going aboard, but I hope Feargus doesn't butt in on this).

Too bad they're still not able to get ahold of LB. Even though he didn't work on WL, I like his art direction from Fallout, so it's a plus to have someone on the team who knows his way around in creating a visual, post-apoc setting.
Oh, by the way, Tim Cain joined Obsidian a few months ago...

Completely off topic, but what is the M for?

Ah yeah I completely forgot that he did.

-edit- Oops sorry MCA = Master of Ceremonies Avellone

I thought it was Master?

Huh, I'd sure love to see this happen. With MCA's storytelling abilities involved, chances of me buying the game would go up dramatically. Time to make a pledge, it seems.

Oh, I always thought the C stood for Chris. Makes sense, then.
Interesting developments eh? ;)

This has got to happen... time to up the pledge!
I don't know why so many people think this is bad news. When I woke up and read the kickstarter update I almost wet myself with excitement. Now I'm having my weak bladder checked by the doctor.

Obsidian has some awesome ideas and writing prowess. Combine that with decent designers and programmers and we are going to have THE most amazing RPG since Torment!
They have about about 15 days to go, and about $268, 000 left.
Okay, so doing some Google mathiness, this means that about 18,000 dollars needs to be donated each day to make the goal. Can it be done? Funding definitely slowed down there for a little while after 1.5 mil was reached, but with this news maybe things will pick up again. Even though I'm not planning on buying the game, I hope they reach the target; it would make so many people happy. :)

I pledged my financial support for this game.

Really want to see them make a success of this, because it could provide a viable avenue for a lot of indie devs to make their games without having to sacrifice their creative vision. It also gets developers back down into the grass-roots, asking gamers what they really want (in broad strokes), and not having to worry about a publisher stepping in to change everything around.

Although there are some inherent risks in any kind of investment like this, I believe the potential benefits of such a crowd-funding scheme are worth it. Also, it could open the door for more 'classic' and original kinds of games to be developed. There's nothing wrong with niche markets, as long as they can make a profit in the end.

I would much rather financially support that, than yet another COD clone.
Am I the only one a bit hesitant to want more people involved in the project? That seems like it'll just make the development process more alike to those in the gaming industry from which Fargo wants to move away. But, he's in charge so if he wants to bring on Obsidian then I trust it's for the better.
It's not like they can fully bring Obsidian in. They will most likely just write some quests, some NPCs, maybe a zone or two. And that's what they do best. So I'm really hopeful they reach the target for this.
