CharlesGrey: Will we? Is it official that we'll also get other Disney releases?

redrain85: There's been no official statement, but the press release does say "Disney Interactive/Lucasfilm Games catalog". I don't think they'd bother mentioning the Disney Interactive part, if they had no intention of releasing DI titles.
Well, I figure it's because Disney is the current rights owner for the LucasArts game catalogue, right? But you may be right. At least it seems entirely possible now, that they'll sooner or later release other Disney stuff here. I wonder if they'll also consider releasing some content in the movie/animation category.

RayRay13000: I honestly thought it would be years (or decades) before something like this happens
Well, it literally was like two decades because some of today's games were released in '92-'94 ;)

ZapMcRaygunn: It's a bad day for the Empire, however, as now I can get into my X-Wing and join the Rebellion!
Not so hasty, I've been sitting in the Tie Fighter since I was about 9 years of age.
Well, KOTOR 1 is in my shelf now. For next releases, i want to see at least KOTOR 2, Dark Forces/Jedi Knight, Galactic Battlegrounds (is nice to see how much people here remembers this one) and Outlaws.

Edit: how many here remembers the city building/god game Afterlife? Guess is one of the less known Lucas Arts games

HypersomniacLive: Sam & Max Hit the Road
The Secret of Monkey Island™: Special Edition
Indiana Jones® and the Fate of Atlantis™
Star Wars®: Knights of the Old Republic
4/6 ? Not bad. Unfortunately (for my wallet of course and not for me) my score is 6/6. I don't think I'll spend much $ on other publishers in the Christmas Promo.
Please oh PLEASE bring back the Galactic Battlegrounds Saga to Windows 8. My kids are all over me to get this installed on their new laptop... alas, the old discs only work for Windows 7.

Please oh please oh please oh please!!!
Unbelievable. This is just fantastic. Thanks GOG!

They may be saving the news of Disney titles for a separate announcement, and are focusing on LucasArts for now. Since they're the titles in greatest demand.

But, who knows. Let's all cross our fingers and hope. :)

I get the feeling Disney decided to divvy up their catalog between Steam and GOG, initially. With Steam getting the Disney titles exclusively for a while, and GOG getting LucasArts exclusively for a while. Then, eventually, the exclusives of each will cross over to the other.

Thanks GOG!!!!!!!!!

Xwing and Tie Fighter are instant buy for me and I do have these original PC versions in the big carton boxes but I NEVER managed to get them working on my new rigs!!! Thank you very much indeed!!!

Hopefully we'll see more LucasArts games like dark forces series, outlaws, SWOTL + plane add-ons, BOB, jedi knight series, Xwing Alliance and so many other good youth memories of the Win3.11/DOS 6.22 and Win95 era that LucasArts has given me and that GOG has ressurected from the dead:-)
I have a feeling GOG won't be losing money on this deal.

JurpoJarppinen: Now you need to get SW Galaxies to work with your GOG Galaxy Client :)
And X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter :D
And this would be perfect timing for me, because we tried to play this one on-line like two days ago with my friend, but running this one on any x64 system is a pain. Please GOG help us :D

hurvl: I'd like to see Dark Forces (1995) on GoG. My first PC game was Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight and so the first one was a bit before my time, but I've often wondered how it would be to play it. It's on Steam, but I don't know how well that version will run on my Win7 laptop and I'd rather get it DRM free. Simply starting it up, with no other programs needed, just like at its initial release, that's how I want to play it.
Well you'd have to play it in DOSBox I assume.

It is a damned good game tho', probably looks a bit dated by todays' standards since it's a 2.5D, but has good levels and some great mechanics; It is one of the first games I remember where shooting out lights allows you to hide in the dark!!!

The best thing about the game is the iMUSE music score; The Arc Hammer theme still gives me spine chills!

Use some sort of wavetable emulation, e.g. AWE32, in DOSBox when you play it. You won't regret it! That goes for X-Wing and TIE Fighter etc. too!
