Okay, time for a more detailed reaction post from me...

This is something that we GOGlodytes never thought would happen, not even in our wildest dreams. But lo and behold, here it is. The folks at Disney have finally wised up and decided to make their classic games available here on GOG, DRM free, and even without regional pricing. Well Disney, you made the right move. Now wallets shall open and money shall come your way, for making the good old games in your back catalog available again, in their full DRM free glory. Also great job GOG, you have fulfilled many wishes and you have made your store better by adding these games.

Thank you, GOG and Disney! Now SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!! :-)

askteam99: Can someone please tell me what is so great about these games? If anything I'm a little...Disappointed that this is the new publisher. PLEASE DON'T TAKE THAT THE WRONG WAY! My point being is these games don't really seem to appeal to me. But I hope you all have great times with these games! It surely is a great time to be on GOG indeed!
Do you like star wars? Do you like adventure games? As you say "they don't SEEM to appeal to" you. Things aren't always how they seem (quite often not.) If you don't like adventure games, then I would ask, what sort of themes appeal to you and would you be willing to give one a try if there were certain things that appealed about it to you that you may be unaware of that I can enlighten for you? If you do like adventure games and the LucasArts catalogue doesn't appeal for some reason(s), I'd say just give a few of them a try, they are quite great.

If you DO like star wars, then I would ask why these games don't appeal. X-Wing and TIE fighter are superb combat sims on top of being in the star wars universe which makes them about the coolest things ever. You really, really, feel like you're in the cockpit of TIEs (different types, advanced being the coolest ship ever) and Rebel ships (A-Wing, Y-Wing, and X-wing missions; which to me are FUGGIN AWESOME but not quite as fun as the TIE missions.)

The other star wars games, and there are lots, have varying degrees of greatness and star wars-ness to them, and depending on your game-type, any number of them could appeal to you if you want good/great games even if you don't care if they are set in the star wars universe. There's a whole bunch of FPS types that are better than a lot of FPS. There are the 2 great RPGs in KotOR 1+2, Rebel Assault is a GREAT action game.

Huinehtar: Well done, everyone involved, well done and thanks.
Couldn't have said it better.
Payday will find me owning the entire catalog so far.

gbaz69: Wait, why are two games $12.50? ... so that 20% off can make them the normal $9.99 SILLY~~~ (thumbs down to those titles that are $12.50)
Well, it's probably because they are DRM-free and flat priced. $12.50 is more or less the exact same price most Europeans have to buy for these games on Steam.

Another question: I just want to buy one of the space shooters by now. Which one should I pick: X-Wing or Tie-Fighter?

Can someone tell me if:
- the classic option is very faithful to the the originals (no added parts).
- these versions can also use the original midi music.
- the old dos savegames are still compatible (or can be converted).
- GOG will add the old dos versions too as a bonus.
Sweet, I'll be picking Sam and Max and Indy for now and will get the X-wing and Tie Fighter games later as well as Monkey Island Special Edition hopefully Maniac Manson, Day of the Tentacle, Zak Mckraken, and Afterlife is on the upcoming list
Nice.
LUCASARTS CONFIRMED!

On the other hand, my wallet is screaming in pain right now.

TIE Fighter.
Hey, GOG......

The Force will be with you, always.

I'm super stoked about the new games. I've wanted the games from the Star Wars series since I was a kid. ...now here they are. Next on my list is the Mechwarrior franchise. Can you please make those games next?
Let's hope for Star Wars Rebellion/Supremacy - fantastic and almost forgotten strategy
I LOVE GOG.COM!!
What? Disney/Lucasarts? Who would have thought that? ;-)

Congratulations to gog.com and to us all! :D
I just added KotOR to my collection. I'm so glad that was released on launch day. Please don't make we wait too long to add KotOR2. X-Wing and Tie Fighter had to go to my wishlist for now. $30 is just to far over the budget. I blame Dave Ramsey.
Just saying:

X-Wing vs. Tie-Fighters + GOG Galaxy!

I hope so, I hope so!

GG GOG!
