Maxvorstadt: May I ask what`s the difference between Diamond Edition and Enhanced Edition?
There you go: steamcommunity.com/app/704450/discussions/0/1697167355224129994

But in short: better performance considering the engine needs a major rework, incoming 64bit exe, facelift, more content.

Dark_Ansem: How exactly is Beamdog responsible for the takedown of the Diamond edition when the decision is entirely of GOG's?

Aemenyn: What.

nightcraw1er.488: So how much more will this "enhancement" cost?
Neverwinter Nights Diamond is listed on GOG as 9.99 USD.
Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition is listed on Stean as 19.99 USD.

So, It will cost 10.00 USD more.

You forgot about steam workshop .

Here you go: http://nwn.beamdog.com/

I don't know however what will be the situation with multiplayer in the GOG version.

I don't personally like that one for NWN - because unlike Oblivion, or Skyrim, mods require more attention.
However, you did remind me of the brand new NWsync feature, which basically is going to make PW and custom modules a lot easier to play, since it's going to download everything you need by itself.

It's more expensive.

Oh, there are some technical adjustments mostly to solve compatibility issues with modern operating systems, better UI scaling at high resolutions and the like. Nothing too major, really.

Content-wise, the base package is like the Diamond Edition, except the soundtrack is now a separate purchase.

You can get the remaining three Premium modules (Pirates of the Sword Coast, Wyvern Crown of Corymr and Infinite Dungeons) as DLCs, and there is a new version of Darkness over Daggerford including new music, voice-overs and such. There are also soundtrack DLCs for the premium modules and DoD.

My bet would be on that one saying that right holders are not dictating what they're selling in GOG store.

Firstly, IP is different from Commercial Rights. I would even go as far as saying that NWNEE and NWND could even be considered two completely different IPs.

Secondly, Diamond Edition, from what I see on the Store page, is still considered as Bioware IP, NOT Beamdog IP.
Which means that Beamdog doesn't "hold" any "rights" concerning the Diamond Edition.

Figured this was an inevitability, but thanks for the heads up.
Stop spreading misinformation about the missing soundtrack. If you buy the EE on GOG you get a free copy of the DE, which contains all of its bonus downloads, including the MP3 soundtrack.

The one which is going to be available as a separate purchase will be flac. If you don't want it, don't get it - you'll still be getting the MP3 soundtrack if you buy the game on GOG.

Also, it's most definitely decision of WotC / Hasbro to bundle the original with the EE, so don't jump on the Beamdog hate bandwagon. Do it for valid reasons if you musi, not for something Beamdog's not responsible for, and not for something which is a false rumor (missing soundtrack).
Wow this is one slow development game , i stopped checking on the updates a few months back and nothing significant has been done apart from the same fixe bugs from previous patch and loop... I wonder if its wise to release something this incomplete to replace a fully complete version like nwn diamond....

Also how frequent will the gog version will be patched up ? no info on the multiplayer galaxy only ?

Stick to that, because it's clear you're woefully ignorant of legal principles. Especially transnational ones.

A higher price, first and foremost. But also the removal of soundtrack to be sold separately.

Well, not all of it is Good News™ like these. According to posters before me Beamdog worked on some graphical updates and a 64-bit engine. I would go check how much actually changed but I'm at work. They didn't need to add widescreen support as with their other EEs, but the price rise was the same. Now it's up to you to decide whether these modifications are worth the price hike.

Edit: Ninja'd. How dare you Nergal01! *shakes fist towards Nergal*
