Pet Sematary (Stephen King) is also one of my favorite horror film. Not a true horror film, but more focused on what you are ready to do to bring a beloved person back to life. Avoid MicMac indians cemetery !

Not a true horror film? It scared the shit out of me when I was a kid lol.

I mean it is not very gory, it's more psychological horror. I have the bad habit to think that an horror film have to be bloody to be good, which is a mistake most of the time !

That is a bad habit. :D I love gore but some of the greatest horror films of all time lack gore.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre is probably the most famous for having virtually none, but there are others.

If you liked that I strongly suggest you watch Haeckel's Tale (Masters of Horror, Season 1, Episode 12) by Clive Barker. That's a pretty good movie with a similar message.

R8V9F5A2: This might be silly, but The Blair Witch Project really freaked me out the first time I saw it.
This was before the whole documentary-horror style became popular.
The Blair Witch Project is one of my favorite horror movies. I saw it twice in theaters (the first time I had a long drive home at night which was creepy). I think Blair Witch Project, despite being well known is massively under rated. Also, Book of Shadows has a great hallucinatory wtf vibe... both guilty pleasures of mine.

The director's recent bigfoot film, Exists, is also worth seeing taking unconventional twists to the found footage convention even if it's not as epic as BWP.

I agree about Blair Witch. Criminally underrated. I don't think people are willing to give the makers credit for how clever the film was. Also... that ending was disturbing.

I love a good gore film but my favourite horrors usually don't have gore, or not much at all. I prefer something that'll screw with your head for example Ringu, Juon and Poltergeist. Sure Poltergeist has a couple of gory scenes but the biggest scare for me was the tv. I NEVER let my tv go to white noise ever since I saw it haha.

Since I saw "IT", I don't want to stay too close to clowns.
"You want a balloon ?" Aaaaaaaaaahhhh !!!

LOL ! An other non gory horror film is The Human Centipede ! I found it more funny than scary, probably because I think it is too grotesque.
