Maxvorstadt: Well, the forum software is indeed based on Konrad Zuse`s "Plankalkül", so no chances of improving/repairing it, no one nowadays is able to understand it, because the code is written in Sütterlin. :-D

I made a little experiment not long ago just to verify what's the deal with me losing 3 rep every day or two regularly. The results are startling. For about a whole week, maybe even longer, of forum inactivity, I still lost rep and will continue to lose rep without doing anything significant whatsoever. Neither in contributing to the GOG forums in any way I can, and neither in joining giveaway threads. No, the rep counter just took a little liking to pop down 3 rep regularly.

A system where I lose rep daily or semi-daily (I'm still unsure whether this happens every 24 hours or every 48 hours) without doing anything in the first place is flawed, but then it's been a while and won't be changed. Trying to fight this decreasing rep is a futile effort anyways. No matter what you gain, it is bound to be lost to this abuse of the system.

All I'm worried about is having to surround my links inside quotes, however, this is all but inevitable. Whether I post or not, I will come to a point that I will have to do that to share anything here unless the GOG staff end up doing us a favor with the forums.

You've caught yourself a troll, that happens. (I myself was up to 55 rep yesterday and see what happened since – well, at least I have a pretty clear idea who the troll is, though of course that only helps with the inevitable paranoia).

Keep cool, try to not dole out accusations and vote for rep/downvote removal from the forums. I highly doubt GOG will do anything at all. It's just not on their schedule. The top priority is to sell more Witcher stuff at all times.

And, sorry. This forum needs more blue mages. :(

And don't laugh, there have been days when I didn't post, but I still lost my 6-12. :D

I don't give two shit about the rep but I still get a kick when I think back to two years ago when this crap started happening and someone from GOG actually told me they were phasing it out and it would be gone within six months, so not to worry about it. :P That was 1000 points ago.

It is inevitable with the way the forums work. I kinda hope at the least that post count affects the forum later, if the rep count isn't going to be axed.

This forum needs a makeover, btw. Not blue mages.

Seriously though, you get downrepped because you're tinyE. I'm still unsure why you being tinyE just so happens to do this, but alas.

So it's been two years already since the rep system was said to be dropped in 6 months. Probably was at the same time period where Galaxy started to be a thing...the joys of GOG.

Take the downrepping as a compliment, my friend. If you're prolific enough of a member or wise enough of an arguer that NES or some politically zealous individual considers it their goal to downrep you (assuming, of course, you don't have some history of trolling or otherwise annoying the forum), it's a sign you're doing something right.
