And people continue to downvote and spam-mark every single one of his posts even when they contribute to the discussion. I certainly understand why he gets annoyed, that behaviour doesn't exactly help in making the forums a friendlier place.

I still see more of his "bad" posts -the necros and whatnot- than his constructive ones, but he has improved a lot, and I don't see how throwing crap helps someone who tries to be a better person.

I'm sure on top of his anti-fanclub comes the downvoter script. I don't downvote everything by him just because; thats stupid. Necro spam, yes. Thats like begging for it. But the so-many-downvotes + reports that it gets auto-deleted on normal posts from him? That makes only sense from a script; half a fistful ppl hating him enough to invest time to hunt down his every post to make a downrate+report would not enough; and normal annoyance does not get so many votes-till-delete; few yeah, but not next to everything.

Like I said in any forum with actual moderation 5 decent posts do not redeem 995 posts of such obvious,uncreative,repetitive and blunt trolling. Apparently those 5 posts are enough for the naive and short sighted members of GOG to say the guy has the capacity to change and is somehow unaware of borderline spamming the forum.

He stopped necroing and attacking for a week and just posted a few passive-agressive posts (until now).
We don't even know if it was on purpose, as he never felt sorry for his actions.

Friendliness to new people is, I think, an easier way to go for him for the moment, having become so jaded by negativity from everyone else regardless of his responses that he feels it's no longer worth the effort (and instead, sadly, sometimes reads posts too quickly and automatically responds to the expected negativity with more of the same). I have seen him answer question threads with a very valid response and getting spam-flagged just for daring to post.

0.1% is very little, yes. But it's better than none. While I can't do anything about any down-vote scripts (I would prefer that GOG required a typed reason for downvoting, or at least for spam-marking, and that spam-marks would go through a staff member for validity at a certain threshold rather than auto-hide as said threshold), I can only hope that that behaviour is stopped in some way.

I have witnessed him acting better. I respect him, even if I don't agree with his actions, and I feel have earned respect back.
