richlind33: Everyone that doesn't have the psychological wherewithal to question authority.

GameRager: I think someone and another someone(if both have full use of their senses and are not impaired in some way will very likely both see the same thing(a tree for example) if they look at it from the same pov at the same time, etc)...this is what I was trying to say not things that can be more affected by belief. Also even then objective reality doesn't usually change....just one's perception of it.

richlind33: What was it that a certain world historical figure said about big lies? lol

GameRager: Which one?
You're badly mistaken. Numerous scientific studies have been done, showing conclusively that human perception is *extremely* fallible.

Studies are made BY humans and can also be fallible, and a tree is still a tree is still a tree to those who look at it even if it's really reals or not(simulation or god's dream theory).

I mean if I stupidly walked into traffic and thought to myself "that traffic isn't there because human perception is fallible after all" it's not gonna stop me from getting injured badly, now is it? o.0

So science is fallible....when you disagree with it? lol

Science is definitely fallible, but bias *can* be corrected for if people are of a mind to do so; which brings us to your efforts to extrapolate into absurdity something that really isn't arguable. Exceptions do not disprove rules -- least of all ones that attempt to establish absolute thresholds.

How/where did I say that? I assumed you were trying to state that objective reality isn't a thing and I was trying to provide a counter to that....if I am wrong on your intentions/stances then please inform me so I can avoid making a fool of myself, as it were, and arguing when I might not need to.

So are you saying by this that an objective reality exists or not?

Objective reality implies something that exists independently of perception, which is, by definition, subjective.

We can train people to be observant, but that is not something that is encouraged among the masses. Quite the opposite, in fact; ordinary folk are taught to be passive and obediant. Prussian "idealism". o.O

In an age of "old man yells at cloud" and "am I out of tough? No, it's the children who are wrong" memes, I'm amazed these threads still happen. Like... how can you not realize what you're doing and who you're being?

OK, I'll bite; who're you being?

If you mean we're being like old men afraid of ALL change, you are somewhat wrong....we(at least I can say i am for certain) are more against stupid change/certain change, not all change like in those memes you mention.

The visuals are mostly weird but if we could just keep the first 20 seconds i'd be ok with it. o.0
