Greenskins and crossbones

Man O' War: Corsair, an open-sea action/exploration game set in the Warhammer universe, is available now for Windows and Mac, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount.

What will you do with a drunken goblin early in the morning? Maybe toss it over the portside? But that might attract an enormous monstrosity from the depths of the Old World and your ship is not big enough for that yet. Better keep the little bugger close, he could prove useful when you are navigating your ship in the middle of a raging storm. Or when you are boarding an enemy ship full of Dark Elves, regretting your decision not to sink it while it was in your cannons' sights.

Evil Twin Artworks aim to deliver an experience with the thrills of naval warfare and perilous exploration that longtime fans of the tabletop Warhammer games expect. When Man O' War: Corsair is finalized, both the campaign mode and the free-roaming features will have been tweaked and refined so that players can do combat aboard a slew of different vessels, hire mercenaries from a variety of races, visit over 50 ports, and conquer the waters of the Old World both during daytime and nighttime. According to their plans, this will take approximately four months, unless a giant sea-monster pulls their offices into the abyss and swallows the crew whole. But that rarely ever happens.

Raise your sails and drop anchor in the blood-stained oceans of the Old World as you become a Man O' War: Corsair, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 10% discount will last until April 22, 2:59 PM UTC.

Note: This game is currently in development. See the FAQ to learn more about games in development, and check out the forums to find more information and to stay in touch with the community.

TheTome56: Umm...

You do know he copy/pastes the exact same complaint on every single thread about In Development games, right?

It's just background noise at this point.
Nope, didn't know (I don't read many EA threads).

Tucked away for future reference tho.

Thanks :)

JMich: Have you ever beta tested anything? Having deadlines over your head, needing to write proper reports, having to do the same thing over and over again because you got a new build, so you have to check again everything you've done so far?
Early Access and/or In Development is nothing like beta testing, other than the fact that you are playing a game that's not feature complete.

Will have to remember to ask you the same thing every time you paste your post, at least until you remove said line.

P.S. How do you know it's crap without playing it? Or are you one of those that did pay to play this version?
Shows what you know.
Beta testing is the easiest funnest job in the world!
You get to play games before they've been released and all you have to do is send the developer(s) some comments.
And if you don't like it, you don't even play it. You still get paid!
It's like squeezing a lemon.

Chacranajxy: I wouldn't have minded Dark Souls III.... :)
Well I'm pretty sure GOG wouldn't have minded having Dark Souls III either! Blame (publisher, is it SEGA?) for not being here.
avatar
robertgg: shame on those that paid to beta test it

Jmich, "other than the fact that you are playing a game that's not feature complete" is not technically correct here and you know it.

In development here on gog requires payment for a product that has not been officially supported, not guaranteed to be officially supported and still requires in depth feedback to the devs that may or may not result in official support.

anothername: *ponders* Most importantly in addition to my previous question; will players have a female character option? I just see dudes on the screens.
avatar
JamesClemMOWDev: You can play as a woman, yes! This is actually shown in pre-release material.
Can you play as a person of color?

If the campaign includes romances, are there LGBT options?

Different ManOwaR, though I do like the way you think! ;)

I thought it was Bandai Namco...

You mean there are more similarities than playing a game that's not feature complete, or you disagree that both beta tests and InDev games are not feature complete?

What do you mean by "officially supported"? That GOG doesn't support the games or that the devs don't?

You tell me. You have thirty days to decide.

Yeah, you're right. Interestingly FromSoftware is listed as co-publisher on Steam; maybe they could bring the game here as an "indie" title. ;-)

I'm asking for the "not technically correct" part you said. If there is a factual error in one of my posts, I do want it corrected.
So far with the testing I've done, my previous post seems correct, thus why I'm asking again and again.
P.S. Both paid and unpaid testing btw.

Yeah, wishful thinking... I think FromSoftware is the publisher in Japan and Bandai Namco handles the rest of the world. So given the region locked nature of the title, well you know... :|

Some POC playable captains are being worked on right now. Huge apologies for them not being in there at launch! And there aren't any romances for the player character, but I did write multiple quests featuring people that happen to be LGBTQ+.

anothername: Looks like something I'll have a very close eye on. So... Its like Sea Dogs / Age of Pirates 2 set in Warhammer? Will it have character choices or even better yet customization?
avatar
JamesClemMOWDev: We were inspired by Sid Meir's Pirates. I'd say to think combat inspired by Assassin's Creed: Black Flag's naval combat, along with moral choices, trading, Warhammer universe etc.

Breja: Looks interesting, even though I know nothing about the tabletop game. Still, some naval battles and swasshbuckling is always fun, if done well. Once it's actually a game, and not a insulting paid beta I might be interested.

JamesClemMOWDev: If you check out the roadmap it shows you everything we are adding, not including what the community want. I guess it's when you feel it is worth $29.99, if ever. Which is fair enough if you don't want to pay that. Just know we will keep supporting Man O’ War: Corsair for as long as the community wants us to.

And I'd say that you don't need to have experience with the table-top version. This is our version of the game!
Oh my, yes, there is. To much rum and the eye-patch placed on the good eye. I hope for some nice overall customization (not just the captain but also the ship).

Can I let the char leave the ship/port to explore island; small landmass explorations to find lost treasures, hidden lore myths & legends and other exploration stuff? A bit like in Sea Dogs 2 but in good? The word "explore" is used quite a lot but if I'm bound to the ship only it might become stale.

I guess I'll see after the download :D
