Not the old X-com games. I'm not hardcore enough for those UIs. But the new Firaxis game.

I really enjoyed it.

I hardly ever finish games, but I finished this one. I liked the endgame. That's rare.

And now I'm itching to play XCOM 2.

All in all, pretty good experience.

Now, let's see if I can back into Darkest Dungeon enough to finish that one. I like it. But it's so mean...
Congratulations. That's epic. I've heard those games require a lot of hours.
Congrats, it really is a fantastic game, I thought it was much better balanced than the original X-Com games. Now, maybe before you start XCOM2, you instead could install Long War for XCOM 1 and have a whole new experience. Long War really is the ultimate way to play, in my opinion. Anyway, good luck with what you tackle next. I'm much the same as you, I hardly ever finish games, even ones I super enjoy, but XCOM was one that I did finish.

XCOM2 is really good as well, but not as good as the first.
:SPOILER ALERT!:

The endgame of the original is much better.
Fun. Avoided it until I heard Julian Gollop was playing it. Finished it. Then did another game where I built up an army of high psionic types and never got around to finishing that one.

Maybe try Xenonauts and OpenXCom

Oh, good luck with Darkest Dungeon. Leave nothing unchecked, there is much to be found in forgotten places.

OpenXcom... more advanced than 2012 version....
I have also finished this game one week ago, and I had the same feeling.
I hope they make XCOM: Apocalypse someday.
Congrats, I'm hoping to try it out myself one day :) As for

I'll give another shoutout for openxcom : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GL2x-Sz9Oa8
It has many quality of life improvements to the UI, like mousewheel support, custom resolutions and saving weapon loadoats (which annoying the original never did). Of course it also supports tons of optional mods for anyone bored with the vanilla game, but I never bothered with any of them.
Love it. Once I get 26 soldiers, superhuman is a doddle, we got enough soldiers to clear out any very large alien craft, even with 90% casualties.
Loved the epic moment at the end with my personal psionic. Absolutely worth playing, even more so with Enemy Within.
The main thing that stopped me getting into the original X-COM games is the real time part of the game, do the new XCOM games still have that?
