nightcraw1er.488: Rather than immediately going for a refund, care to elaborate which games exactly do not “work”, and provide some details on what does not “work”? For instance, I have Titan quest, grim dawn both installed on windows 10 and both work perfectly fine. In fact I have a library here exceeding 1000 games, and very few actually have any issues.

What you need to remember is that pc gaming is not console gaming, almost everyone’s setup is different and if you have issue it’s quite likely to be issues on your end. Simply try, doesn’t work, refund, helps neither you, gog, nor in fact anyone else who might have the same issue as you. Take a little while to work out why you have issues, ask the community, look in the game sub forum to see if others have had the issues etc.

There are some things you can try off the bat:
Don’t use galaxy, use the offline installers and run from the exe.
Never install anything to program files or program file 86 (or in fact any other windows folders).
Ensure all dependencies are installed, physx, directx, c++ extensions.
Ensure all drivers are up to date.
Ensure you system meets the minimum criteria including OS.
Avoid using mods or patches until you are sure the game works.

jaknive: forgive me for sounding mean and such. i appreciate the advice on all the computer lingo but it is over my head.
im 63 years old i type using two fingers and am also aware of the virus as im one of the at risk canidates.
my nephews normally install and do all these games for me but they cant come over and do it because of the virus.
rest assured i wont try to download anything else again..it definately is harder than it seems :)
again thanks to all for responding and trying to help me out..
be safe from this virus and play and have fun.
life is to short peace
No problems. If you do want specific help to get a certain game running, then the sub forums have plenty of info.

In terms of grim dawn and Titan quest, if you download the offline installers - hover over your user name on this site, go to library, find the game, and expand the offline installers option, this shows the files need for the game install. Grim dawn has two for the main game. Download those, 1 exe and 1 bin. Put these in the same directory and run the exe, in options choose to install to somewhere like c:/mygames/grim dawn
Once it has installed there should be an icon on the desktop. Double click that. Same process for Titan quest.
If you get any specific errors, feel free to drop back to this thread or one in the game sub forum, e.g:
https://www.gog.com/forum/grim_dawn#1584724297

Hope you get it running, grim dawn and Titan quest are cracking games!

ktseymour: It's unfortunate but seems GOG just does not care about the games they redistribute? They have had misleading titles as the old Star Wars space sim suggested , and too many games are just broken and do not get fixed.

I've been burned a few times, one game that comes to mind is Star Trek 25th, the game for me has to be played with a keyboard , even though it has a mouse interface. The mouse Interface is just broken.

I've also seen many reviews of games that get released broken and never fixed? Why release them then? GOG used to take their time and make sure what we were getting was a fully functional solid game, and GOG built trust with gamer's .

It seems GOG no longer cares if what they sell works? I think I'll be keeping my money , thanks GOG.

The Betrayal at Krondor is still not fixed it seems ? The reviews about it being broken go back over five years, and the newest review for the game at '14 still says it's broken.

GR00T: GOG posted a workaround for the issue with BiA, if that's what you're referring to. Due to the nature of the problem though, it seems they can't incorporate an actual fix into the GOG version of the game. At least, that's what I read.

Other than Star Trek, what games have you had issues with? And, as asked, did you contact Support about these games and issues?

Do note that GOG does offer a refund if you cannot get a game to run on your system and none of their suggestions get it working for you. I think that's pretty fair service and should go a long way towards gaining your trust for their games.
They seem to brag about their refund service so you are led to believe it works. For the first time I have need of the refund service and was surprised at the way they make you jump through hoops. There is no straight forward way to request a refund, They seem to throw banana skins under you feet by the dozen,
This sort of thing does make you tend to stop trusting GoG's policy and integrity.

Funny, I've never had a problem getting a refund.
"In GOG we trust."

That is what it says in the TOS ("Terms of Service"), so not trusting GOG is against the TOS! So STFU, KYS and GTFO. CYA!
