AlienMind: more importantly, will have a drm free humble widget up again so they get 25% more of my money.

oh and huniepop was not censored after i bought it through the drm free humble widget on their site back in the day. seeing as it was censored here, i definitely am going for the correct store.

Crosmando: It's rather ironic that GOG, the store of DRM-free, is one of the last bastions of censorship in PC gaming, while Steam allows uncensored adult games.
Meanwhile the Witcher series is completely uncensored and way more graphic in its (sexual) content than Huniepop, talk about double standards :P

Crisco1492: When it takes less than two minutes to bypass the censorship, and the bypass is free

rtcvb32: You completely missed the point.

Nothing is forever. Eventually the bypass/patch/fix will be gone as the companies fade away.

I suppose some data will last forever as torrents, assuming it's seeded... maybe?
Well there are games that rely on more complex methods to uncensor like installing a patch that comes with a different set of artwork, and in those cases I'm totally with you.
But if I'm not mistaken all is needed for huniepop is to put a correctly named dummy file at the game .EXE's folder. You don't even have to download anything, you can create it yourself. So I don't think we're at risk of being permanently stuck with the censored version 30 years in the future.

The Witcher has no close-ups of female private parts. Not even Geralt's part in "dormancy". HuniePop is way more explicit, visually.

What he said, Witcher's sex scenes are hollywood-ized, no dongs or mayonaise involved.
I had a dong with mayo on rye for lunch yesterday.

On the other hand the Witcher shows human beings naked, not gollum-eyed hydrocephales. So, there's that.
What does everything think of SFW porn?

And elves, succubi... Honestly, what Witcher 3 shows in terms of nudity and sex is standard fare for movies and TV shows which would be rated 16 in Germany. It's not porn by a stretch. HuniePop could be considered porn, even the censored version. Not that I care, I like both for the writing ;-)

A few games i recall did do that, effectively a flag you have to manually put there. That perhaps is the best setup where nothing is removed.

Heh, I'm reminded there's a 'censorship' option in ToME which makes the nipples of a character in a theme picture a little less prominent... it's nearly unnoticeable unless you're super sensitive to that thing :P

Right. It's about as hassle free as you can get while still having a censored version.

tinyE: You're talking to someone who thinks the 1st Amendment should protect harassment and death threats.
Actually i'm anti-censorship.
That doesn't mean i'm pro death threat or any of that crap.

Regardless if you censor them, identifying them just becomes harder (rather than them being open about it), it doesn't stop them from doing it.
