Gonen32: So how is Uplay really ? I'm tempted to buy tier 2 for FC3 but I have never used it before, is it bad as they say ?
avatar
vicklemos: It's not THAT bad. Works with a controller right out of the box.
A "big picture" mode would be nice, too.
I bought it yesterday actually. Now for problems:

Apperantly I have a Uplay account (didn't remembered it, maybe I created one few years back for AC2 on the PS3) But I don't remember its password. I pressed "recover password" and entered my mail to get a code, which I didn't get.

Pissed off, I decided to just create a new account and got a "account creation is unavailable right now our servers are crap" or something.

What a joke.

Uh... be patient, I guess?! :D
Yup, this can really piss someone off, especially today, since it's not Friday yet (plus don't get pissed, man, we all know you'll enjoy your weekend on Eilat still ;D)

ET3D: Edit: Looks like Rayman Origins is DRM-free on Steam (and only available DRM-free at Humble, not even a Steam key). Given that it's DRM-free on other stores, there's a chance it's also DRM-free on Uplay. I have no experience with Uplay on PC (I do have an account, and it has my 3 Ubisoft Xbox 360 games on it), so can't tell if there's a chance for that, but I might install the game to try.
You can play Rayman Origins without Uplay client running.

I'm pretty sure that it is an automatic process (not a person that send the mails).

LOL, I've only been there 3 times.
Ubisoft hardly tries to make Uplay popular.

Great, thanks. So I guess it's possible to use the Uplay client to install it and then delete the client. Sounds good enough for those who don't like having yet another client installed.

In a way, I agree. They should go for the "console experience" that Steam's trying hard to implement.
They have the resources to do it.. so it's a no brainer.
I'd like to have access to some of their classics, too; in here, for sure! ;P

Which of them?
Not impressed with the bta or the higher tier specially if they are just uplay
games , my experience with uplay has been excellent so far the rewards of achieving something is fun but its an another tiring experience to be on another client.

the 1$ is tier is a steal though both gunslinger and rayman orgins are good fun , i still play the demo of gunslinger on ps3

Would be interesting if they unlock more call of juarez games in the bta , those are the closest we will get to having a red dead redemption experience on pc

For starters, Theocracy!

Which? Bloody Good Time. The best fps experience I've ever had (after Timesplitters!)

vicklemos: For starters, Theocracy!
I remember this one. Quite a busy game with the sheer number of units on screen.

vicklemos: Why not "Cold Fear"? :P
I think I should I play it one day.

Are they realistic (like ArmA) or arcadey (like Call of Duty)?

Not sure whether Ubisoft is interested in renewing their license.

So you had a bloody good time with it.
avatar
Grargar: All games are Windows-only, except for Grow Home, which also has a Linux version. The two games that require a Steam account (Call of Juarez: Gunslinger and Grow Home) don't require a Uplay account, in contrast to other Ubisoft games on Steam.
A little off-topic: do I understand it correctly, there are Ubisoft games on Steam where you also need a Uplay account besides a Steam (obviously) account?

Name sez it all. Unfortunately, it seems that people only care about "tough modafocka' fps games out there, with devilish protagonists and "kickass" dudes. It's a hero thing? I don't know. Sometimes gloomy, sometimes scary ones... all I know its that we sincerely could bring more fun to the genre.

edit: Sum is up for sale on Steam, so... and Brothers in Arms? Totally arcade.
Cold Fear is recommended if you have diapers at home and Theocracy is one of the coolest rts/religious sim or whatever game I've played, next to GSC Game World's Alexander. i'm peculiar, I know ;P

Yes, for example, all the Assassin's Creed games on Steam (except for the first one) also require a Uplay account.

As far as this bundle is concerned, neither Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, nor Grow Home require a Uplay account.

Seems to be regionally-locked here.

Regionally locked? Really?
What about "Nemesis of a Roman Empire"? Is it locked for you?
