An interview with Marcin Iwinski about GOG, GOG galaxy and this good old microsoft :

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2016-05-05-cross-play-with-other-networks-thats-not-the-microsoft-of-ten-years-ago

He's quite lenient wit the beast :)

"And Sony is very fast coming back and saying, 'Yes, yes, with us it's okay.' And that's great. It's not the battle of who can make a better ghetto any more, but who is better for the gamer. That's what we're after. It's about opening up and competing on who has the better offer."

Does that mean something about games from Microsoft and Sony coming on GOG ? :P

Also :
" For some publishers, CD Projekt's distaste for DRM remains "a dealbreaker" in partnering with the GOG platform. Iwinski has seen that resistance weaken over time - "it used a dealbreaker for everything, and now it's okay for the back catalogue" - "

Still waiting on the back catalogue of some pubs :P

Was posted as a separate thread, but seems like a good idea to have this video interview with Iwinski here too, since it also mentions GOG. (Ugh, competing with Steam. Yeah, that's where it all went wrong.) mobutu also posted a text summary for those (like myself) who'd really rather read. That's all I'm going on at the moment actually, don't know if I'll bother listening to the thing.

Thanks for linking to the summary. I knew about the video, but wasn't keen on sitting through it.

On August 25th at 10:00 AM CET, there will be a CD Projekt investor's conference regarding the financial results for the first half of 2016. It may be possible we'll get some more specific information about when we can expect to see something from Cyberpunk 2077, or some news about GOG's future plans. Maybe we'll finally know what AAA game they were talking about that would get a day-one GOG release.

Just bumping now that some financial docs are available:
https://www.cdprojekt.com/en/investors/result-center/?presstype=half-year

The conference should be live in less than 4 and a half hours from now, but that'll be 4:00 AM my time.

Not too bad for GoG - $1,382,105.35 profit for the half year.
1st quarter was just $68,284.29.

Curious where you found those numbers, I'm only seeing numbers in PLN thousands in the materials there and thinking I must be missing something likely.

I just converted those to U.S. dollars using the exchange rate at the time, that's all.

For example, current exchange rate is 3.85 PLN to $1

Ah, thanks.

On a complete side note... while perusing the materials I notice they advertise Blood and Wine in their presentation of containing 30+ hours of new game play. All along they had been advertising Hearts of Stone as being 10 hours of new game play, and Blood and Wine as 20 hours+. I just went to check the store page for the expansions and they are listing them as 10 and 30 on the store now. Quite frankly I figured their original numbers were probably on the low side of things as they claimed 100+ hours for the base game and it took me 300-350 hours to finish it as a completionist. Looks like they re-evaluated it upward before release perhaps and I never noticed. :) I'll probably get 100 hours out of the 2 expansions when I get around to them. :)
