The Witcher Dev's GOG.com Adds DRM-Free Movies to Its Lineup
"Iwinski said GOG's movie offerings will focus on "classics," and The X-Files was mentioned frequently in our conversation, though it's not one of the confirmed programs. He didn't rule out going after the newer, more high-profile releases some day (after all, GOG has become a place to buy new games like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in addition to old titles), but said classics will remain a focus."

ughhhh don't judge them as a whole but, as individuals. Alice is (for a lack of a better word) an insufferable twat. That comment was unprofessional and a disservice to her credibility as a games 'news' journalist. She was provoked but, she should have taken the high road. and then with all the name-dropping... oy vey.

My take on the article was pretty positive, don't harbor animosity towards them for being unbiased. Responsible journalism sticks to the facts without taking sides. If anything RPS has taken way more digs at Steam than ever praising it.

Please take my word on that and don't make me spend this beautiful morning linking facts to corroborate my statements.

No need to go hunting for links, I don't really care either way about RPS and its "journalists", I just found the specific response (content and tone) highly unprofessional and disrespectful.

What puzzles me is why did she (?) go out of her way to answer to that rather innocuous remark only to make a poor dismissive response ?
Oh well, gaming journalists ways are above gamers ways.

It's maybe a bit charitable to call them journalists, at least with respect to what appears on the actual RPS page. As near as I can tell, it's a blog on which staff members mostly give brief opinions on particular news items that interest them. It's not exactly deep analysis bolstered by heavy factual content. Even the abstracts are mostly useless.

Indeed, it lacks investigative argumentation and critical sense to be pegged as 'journalism' in my book. The sad thing is, 'gaming reporters' could make a living (and even thrive) with pretty low professional standards up to now (edit :I have a pretty low opinion on a whole level .... but some outlets have to be good I think at some point, even if that's not what I collect from what I catch on the occasion).

Perhaps the user stroke a sensitive nerve? ;-)

Forbes interview with Marcin Iwinski on GOG's move to sell DRM-free movies. Marcin promises a lot more stuff (other than Galaxy, new site functionality, and new movies) are in the works.

They have the wishlist, they know what people want. I'll continue to take a wait-and-see stance.
