Not in, but thanks for the giveaway and informing me about the game :) Somehow I didn't know about it (or forgot) :P Looks perfect for HoMM and Disciples fans.
Not in but thanks for the giveaway.
Not in, but kudos to you for hosting this giveaway!
Funny thing is this though: I had this game on my wishlist until literally 5 minutes ago, when I looked at the store page and noticed something that I don't think was there before, the following:
Additional Notes: Screen resolution 1680x1050 or higher;
The biggest screen I have is 1366x768, which is my laptop's resolution (and I think that resolution is big enough as it is), so as I don't see myself using a resolution bigger than that in the near future, I removed this game from my wishlist.
Tl;dr, if it weren't for your ga, I wouldn't probably look again in the store page and I would miss that little note there, which saved me from getting burnt by the purchase of a game I wouldn't be able to play.
So thanks again for hosting this giveaway, hope the game goes to someone who will actually have all system requirements so that he'll be able to enjoy said game!
Not in (Kickstarter backer), but kudos for spreading the love!

That sounds a bit surprising, so I suggest you ask Alexander Dergay - lead designer on Legends Of Eisenwald and a really nice guy - for more information.

Ixamyakxim: So this is a giveaway for a GoG copy of Legends of Eisenwald. Given how many times and how steeply this game has been discounted so soon after release, it is CLEARLY criminally underappreciated.

I hope this giveaway serves to make someone very happy to have received the game and also maybe drums up a little extra interest in it; as it is VERY good. The developers obviously put a lot of time and love into this one so I'd like to give back a bit if I can.

Feel free to ask me any questions you have about the game if you're on the fence about it - I'm a huge fan but I also like to think of myself as honest and objective when required!

Good luck! Bold up an "I'm In" if you're in. Winner will be a random drawing from a not-so-random pool of entrants!
Thank you for the giveaway. I must admit that with all the games on sale I had completely forgotten about this game, so thank you for reminding me about it.

Also, how would you compare this game to King's Bounty and Heroes of Might and Magic?
I don't own this game, but I'm not in.
The reviews are so-so and my backlog is full of more famous titles..
Thank you anyway!
Thank you for the giveaway and bringing my attention to the game Ixamyakxim! ++
not in, more chances for others : )
Just wanted to add my voice to your endorsement of Eisenwald. You aptly compared the combat to American Football meets chess. The front line creates a barrier and it’s as much about controlling your opponent’s moves as it is creating avenues of advancement. At the start it doesn’t seem like there’s much to it, but as the numbers, troop types, and equipment increases, so does the depth.

The equipment is great. Everything makes a noticeable difference. Most of the epic loot is tied to following up on rumours. A lot of the optional quests in Eisenwald aren’t highlighted as such, they’re just rumours and stories found in taverns, almost like old school D&D. Some bloke at the bar will say something like ‘I heard a princess was thrown from that ruined tower to the west and her ghost appears every night’ and sure enough, you can go check that out, dip a toe in the lore, and earn a sweet bit of loot int he process.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of Eisenwald is the tone. It’s a very grim world where purely moral actions are punished. Almost everyone has a self-serving agenda, and those that don’t will get screwed over fast (probably by you). Peasants are basically ants to your lordly character because that’s just the way things are in medieval Europe.
It does sound interesting, count me in.

Thanks for spotlighting this game! Looked it over and I'm interested. How are the DLCs?
As far as I know there's really only one gameplay DLC here (the other is just the soundtrack and maybe some items? I don't know, I don't have it). It's a truncated mini-campaign that offers more of the same, in a good way with a bit to fill in / compliment the story. The main game campaign has this wonderful "slow burn" build up and also incorporates one of my favorite conventions in RPGs (I won't mention it now) and this obviously isn't present in the smaller DLC campaign.

BrokenSaint: Also, how would you compare this game to King's Bounty and Heroes of Might and Magic?
I actually had a hard time comparing it to either. It's certainly much less Heroes of Might and Magic. To me, HoMM is more Civ / Empire building where as Eisenwald really is an RPG / story driven game. Also, capturing towns / resource management in Eisenwald is really only about gold to buy items and hire / pay troops. The focus is more on questing and advancing the story / living in the world. HoMM to me feels more like the goal is advancing your civilization, growing your tech / research and stomping the map.

King's Bounty is a little tougher for me because I haven't put much time into it. I actually REALLY disliked the combat in King's Bounty (I felt it was a total slog fest and didn't make it far at all) but I imagine the gameplay of KB is more akin to Eisenwald - but I personally just felt Eisenwald had a far better combat system. Just the right mix of lethality with enough time to alter your mistakes / strategy on the fly.

These are a couple of my favorite parts of the game as well. Equipment is HUGE and makes a tangible difference every time you manage to better outfit your troops.

And the rumours are fantastic as well. The first time I figured out what they really were was a great moment. They become fun little puzzles in their own right. There's even a bit of meta going on that I don't want to spoil, as you learn just how much impact the greater myth structure of the game... nevermind.
I'm In! thank you for being awesome!
Wonderful GA, many thanks and +1!

Not in.
