For The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav, a patch has been issued at Steam for broken in-game achievement. The GOG version never got an update.

fronzelneekburm: Thanks for lifting that burden off my shoulder! +1 and my best wishes!
I thought that you considered creating a Github repository, which also has public edit history? Did you decide to "transfer" the list to others?
@omega64 If you will maintain the list from now on, did you consider other venues such as Github? Git-repositories have public edit history and issues/pull-requests are separated instead of cluttering the forum thread.

That seems to be my fault. I never got around to creating a github repo. Part of the problem was that I was reluctant to use my regular account and the GitHub user agreement only allows one free account per person.
POSTAL: Classic and Uncut
MacOS version not updated (missing “Super Postal” Tokyo levels, missing “Level Select” option, missing LAN multiplayer, missing Japanese audio). Steam's macOS version contains all these missing items.

POSTAL 2
MacOS version has not received the recent 5023 update. The GOG macOS version is in fact so old (even prior to this recent update) that it won’t even run on any recent Mac OS (10.9 or higher I believe), whereas the Steam version remains fully updated and runs fine.
MacOS is also missing the Paradise Lost DLC (available on Steam for macOS).

omega64: Game not being updated on GOG compared to other versions? Missing languages or DLCs? Post about them here and let me add them to the list.
Good you took up this mantle, but I can't help but think how much better this list would be as a spreadsheet (sorting, searching, editing, etc.) I know people don't like Google (I don't), but for ease of use, I copied all your posts into a single Sheet with all the categories broken into their own tab (bottom of the page)... if there's enough interest in people using the publicly viewable Sheet rather than a forum thread that is "less permanent" and unwieldy once it turns into a 100 page thread, let me know and I can add you with editing rights (and possibly others that want to help maintain it)... check it out here:

omega64: Is it possible to still play user created levels by some means or has this too been removed?
as far as i know, its not possible to play steam workshop created content on gog version
I like how you reorganized the old GOGmix. Missing update or missing thing to buy here / missing discount was always something different for me so I am glad that I am now able to jusmp to "missing updates". Thank you for continuing this important mix in this form.

Could you please format the different sections a bit more visible (i.e. underline those secions) though?

Also, as said in the old thread. Blackhole has no reason to still be on the list anymore.

Punch Club is abandoned since 2016, so the "fixed [on Steam] last March" bit isn't as precise as it was when that entry was written. That fix came out 03/2017 if I'm not mistaken.

Dates should be converted from their relative to absolute formats to avoid these problems. The Bard's Tale "updated to Remastered and Resnarkled Edition on Steam more than two months ago" was changed to "a year ago" but soon it will be out of date again. If you keep relative dates they will always become outdated as time goes by.

I once pointed these bits to fronzelneekburm, but unfortunately it was soon after Gog removed the ability to edit a GogMix. So he could never change them.

(BTW it may look like this is not as much of a problem in forum posts because the posts display their date, but that is wrong. A post can be edited and you won't know exactly whether or when a particular game's entry was changed in any moment between the post creation and the last edit. Therefore all relative dates carry an innate ambiguity.)

Edit: Thanks for resurrecting the most useful Gogmix ever, tho not in GogMix shape anymore.

Majesty Gold HD
Apparently got update with modding support on Steam, but never on GOG.

It actually did get an update with modding support on gog just when the gogmixes were removed, weird isn't it?

Patch 1.5.2.28 (09 October 2018)
Changes Include:

DirectX 9 is used as the default graphics API. This makes Majesty much more compatible with newer versions of Windows.

Modding support, including an SDK for making new Quests and modifying the functionality of existing Quests and Freestyle games.

Basic Multiplayer using GoG Galaxy is supported.

Mouse edge locking in Windowed mode.

Middle Mouse button drags the map

Many bug fixes.

The GoG installer has been updated to auto-install the needed Microsoft runtime files, but if you having issues and the game will now not start anymore, you can try uninstalling it and re-installing it or manually install the Microsoft runtime files from these links.

Visual Studio 2008 Redistributable SP1 www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5582

DirectX End User Runtimes June 2010 www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

If for some reason, you are having issues with DirectX 9 or you just want to switch back to the older DirectDraw API, you can change back by going to the Settings page in game or by editing MajXPrefs in your My Documents/My Games/MajestyHD directory with Notepad and changing the value from 1 to 0. Please note that on Windows 10, DirectDraw is an optional install and must be added with the Windows Settings panel.

The older DirectPlay Networking interface has also been disabled as that is also not enabled by default with Windows 10. If you need to have that re-enabled, edit MajXPrefs as described above and change the tag to 1

The new install provides an SDK for modding, with some documentation on how to get started. The SDK is located in the same directory where GoG installs your games, usually C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Majesty Gold HD

If for some reason you are really having no luck running the new version, the old version is also located in the same directory where GOG installs your games, usually C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Majesty Gold HD. There will be an executable named MajestyHD - Old.exe.

If you are having issues with the new version, please post with as much information as you can, such as what OS you are running and what graphics card.
Note that since GoG doesn't have a Mod delivery system yet, you will have to manually place any mods in your game's user folder. ex. My Documents\My Games\MajestyHD\Mods
I'll follow the topic, and thanks for information and your work.
Cheers.

Umm, you didn't reserve enough posts, people commented too soon -_-
Wouldn't be a better idea to use some external spreadsheet list (like in Google docs?).

Drgnrdr: You missed Planet Nomads. They moved their forum to steam.
avatar
omega64: Moved their forum to Steam?
Yes. Their reason was it was taking to much time from working on the game to keep two forums running. Since most of their customers were from steam they would archive their forum and use steams forum as their own.

That wouldn't qualify the game for this list, though. Besides, what about all the (many) other devs & publishers who have never had their own dedicated forums at all (and have thus probably been using Steam Community all along), or who have shut them down/transferred them to another service (Steam or otherwise)?
"Developer moves their customer forums from one site that's not GOG to another site that's not GOG" is not, by itself, a very good criterion for inclusion of any of that dev's games in this list of shame, IMO.
(And be real -- would you really want anyone to voluntarily inflict GOG's forum software upon themselves as a medium of communication with paying customers? I hang out here for "amusement", not business -- though there's little enough of the former these days -- and I can hardly be bothered any more to keep up with what has broken most recently, or what Byzantine workarounds have been uncovered just to let us do the most basic things we used to be able to do.)

I agree, an external file is way better.

(but please, never do like other users who got mad about gog\goggers and suddely removed their shared file)
