Lynch achieved

<Voting closed>

Dusk/nightfall posts to follow. You may continue to chat.

<Dusk>

After much back-and-forth and round-and-round, and even a little bit of hokey pokey, a decision is reached.

Yes, it must be CSPVG. Surely killing them will avenge adalia (remember adalia? he's a swell guy), and be a grand first step towards making town safe again.

For some reason you gather around a door you'd barely noticed before, and hear it buzz. Krypsyn tentatively peers inside. "It's empty," he observes.

Drealmer says "I bet if we had all - not just a majority, but everyone! - voted to no lynch it would be full of ice cream and puppies!" Dedo says "You're twisted - how would the puppies have breathed under all that ice cream?"

flub roughly shoves CSP in with a gruff threat: "We'll be back for you shortly."

"All right, people," says Hunter, reluctantly, "if we're going to do this, let's do it right. Go back to your rooms and get anything that can be used as a weapon. Meet back here in...oh say 20 minutes. I'll use this mop to keep him corralled in there."

cristigale: @Hunter - are you able to confirm or deny that CSPVG reported accurately about your file being #7?
I didn't receive any file number in my PM so can't comment on that but he got my name right.
Well... crud... you mean we could have gotten puppy flavored ice-cream?! Tomorrow is totally a No Lynch Day!
<Nightfall>
After about 25 minutes of scavenging, everyone comes back more or less empty handed. Cristi offers up a penny; Krypsyn offers up a set of dreadlock hair extensions. "They were, uh, for a party."

"Right, so death by mop it is," decides Bookwyrm. "Never a good way to go," says Trent. "My cousin had that happen to him." Hunter, unceremoniously drags CSP out to face fate, mop in hand.

"Any last words?" asks Jmich.

"I hate you all, but in the kindest, most well meaning way possible," CSP offers again. "Yeah, you said that already. Let's do this." said RW.

And with some of this, and a lot that, and a bit of the other thing, CSP meets his slightly moistened end. The one upside of death by mop is that you actually get some cleaning in as you go - less mess for later.

CSP is dead. Around the wrist you observe an ID tag - he was Danny, Town Desk Cop, patient ID# 10.

You each return to your rooms and contemplate the implications of the day.

Update - all actions are in as of now, but despite saying there would be a middlin' amount of flavor, there's still a lot to write, and I have a minor issue to work out IRL.

I'm hoping to have things back by noon PST (2.5 hours) but it's not guaranteed.
D2
Day has dawned. More than one of you awoke hoping everything that happened had just been a bad dream, or that miraculously you'd be set free, but no such luck.

You awake for day two, and slowly people gather to congregate back in the common space. Each lost in their own thought, no one really notices the order and it's probably irrelevant. But after a time it becomes clear someone has not emerged.

No wait - 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8...weren't there 10 of you? It's quickly determined that everyone is here except JMich, dedoporno, and of course, poor poor CSPVG who you all cruelly ***** to death with a mop.

In turn the group trudges to find their missing fellows. Stopping in at dedo's room the scene is quite orderly, but for an odd, disheveled pile of Tiger Beat magazines on the floor by his bed.

Dedo himself is nowhere to be seen. "Perhaps he is sleeping in a box somewhere?" suggests Krypsyn optimistically. "I've heard people do that. Just have to check first and make sure there's no wolverines in there before you get in."

Cristi starts digging through his things, and finds an odd, locked wooden box (not nearly big enough for a whole person to hide in) and a notebook, that seems to be his diary.

Trent takes the diary, while Drealmer grabs the box. The box has an ornate lock, and in the end Drealmer just pries it open using her great strength. Peering inside she's met with quite a shock - it's a hand! A human effing hand! And not surgically severed, but roughly hacked off with a cleaver.

"Holy shit!" flub observes.

"Guys, listen to this!" interjects Trent, having skimmed multiple pages. It says right here that dedo was

Cap, Bulletproof Mafia Traitor.

Everyone is silent for a minute pondering the implications. "You could say we...dodged a bullet there, amirite?" Wyrm quips.

"But what about JMich?" Cristi asks? Indeed, she was quite right - the exploration was only half over.

The group trundled on to JMich's room, and the contrast couldn't be greater. A body lay on the floor near the desk, amidst a large pool of viscous red liquid.

Approaching the body it was hard to avoid stepping in it, and soon everyone's shoes were covered, making it impossible to tell if perhaps someone was already implicated by prior stains of what you were now quite certain was blood.

The group split up, with a few people looking closer at the body and others going through his stuff. Hunter observed the pile of bloody medical scrubs by the bed, while Krypsyn noted that there were indications someone had been working on the body, specifically the pelvis and lower abdomen: incisions yes, but also sutures and gauze pads.

flub observes that the room is full of medical texts. Surely if there was a doctor here they didn't lug all the books in him- or herself, right? Though perhaps the delay would explain the death as they hauled in and then perused the various tomes.

"Ah, here it is," said Bookwyrm, "JMich's diary."

"It's a good thing everyone has one of those," said Drealmer. "Perhaps instead of lynching anyone we should just spend the day reading each others diaries, and maybe if no one else is scum we could just play MASH or something?"

"They can have my diary when they pry it out of my cold, dead fingers" said flub, tersely.

"Ok, seriously?" said RW. "Just read the damn thing!" So they did. Piecing various notes together you determine that JMich was:

Melvin, Poison-Immune Town Backup Surgeon Someone also notes he has a wristband, and his patient ID is #42.

Someone sighs. "I don't even... Just seriously, WTF?"

Day 2 has dawned

All votes are now reset. Players may post in this thread. The dead may weep and lament their fate.

With 8 alive, it takes 5 to lynch. Enjoy!
Wall of Text Incoming! Going to need some bumping. Formatting during original writing was assuming everything fits in a single post (didn’t realize I’d type so much).
Part 1
-----
After CSPVG's flip, I fully expect to get lynched today, and I have no quarrel with that. I'll lay out what I know in this post. My flip should confirm that I'm giving the truth as best I know it. For convenience in this post, I'll be using "Wyrm" to refer to what I (the player) think, and I'll use my character name to refer to what I (the character) think. I'll refer to CSPVG and his character by his player name (CSPVG).

You may have noticed my evasiveness and utter lack of extra information yesterday. There is a reason for this: Wyrm suspected scum had copies of town roles, as fake claims if not straight up copies. Why? A lot of CSPVG's claim looked very, very familiar to me.

I am Danny, Town Desk Cop. Yes, you read that right. I'll give you the timeline of events from my perspective.

Pre-Game/N0:
Wyrm-Danny has been on the force for a long time (Wyrm figures this means police, or maybe soldier). Danny was due for retirement soon, but ended up here. After a misunderstanding at a Furry convention (Wyrm doesn't know why Danny was there), Danny has been on desk duty. Danny is out of shape and doesn't have the temperament to question suspects (wyrm gets the impression of "cowardice").

I know there is a stack of files for all patients on the wing. Each night, I can pick a file and review it, but I have to choose by file number, not by player name. Thus, I "happened" to pick CSPVG (I didn't set out to pick CSPVG in particular). His file number was 10, and I picked it because it was the lowest of my available N0 choices. My available choices were (apparently) randomly chosen; neither Wyrm nor Danny chose those particular numbers, though Bler might have as part of balance or something.

I did ask what would happen if I chose not to read a file on N0. Bler noted that the game might end, or the world, and I'd just have to try it to find out. I took the world ending thing to be a joke (still do). Also, I'm pretty sure it isn't relevant, but apparently Danny's last (and currently ex-) girlfriend's age matches the ID on one of the files. The other two file numbers have no other (revealed) significance to me.

Danny sees that patient #10 is named Danny, and Wyrm-Danny promptly checks his wristband. I am not patient 10, I do have a wristband, but my PM didn't say whether I had a patient ID on my wristband. I don't know my number; Danny promptly forgot what it was after confirming it isn't 10 and that I have a good number. Danny also seems to be biased against CSPVG at this point for being a name stealer (Wyrm took that to be a joke).

CSPVG is apparently a lesbian, though based on the pronoun usage he is male. CSPVG's file had big (unspecified) medical words that Danny doesn't know, but some other words that Danny does know, like guns, explosions, conspiracy, and decapitation. Danny's conclusion is ultimately that CSPVG is Mafia. Not Scum, not SK, not Anti-Town. Mafia.

Danny decided to just sleep tight after reading the file, since scum hadn't done anything yet (and Danny seems to be afraid to confront them).

Wyrm figures that Danny is an employee at this hospital, like a front desk guard (rent-a-cop) or something; the PM doesn't say either way (and doesn't say that I'm a patient here, just that I have a wristband with something on it). There isn't anything that strongly indicates mental hospital versus injury hospital (neither cops nor soldiers necessarily develop PTSD; neither being a furry nor hating furries is a mental illness; cowardice isn't a mental illness).

D1, Wyrm's objectives:
-Primary: Get CSPVG lynched for being scum.
-Primary: Try to determine who CSPVG's scum buddies are, by seeing who tries to derail his wagon.
-Secondary: Don't claim, if possible. Let's keep the cop power around as long as possible, shall we?
-Secondary: Don't give scum any extra information to know to NK me, or to formulate stronger claims.

How did D1 work out?
-Things were going okay pre-CSPVG claim. Lots of foot dragging, but no one is really stepping forward with an alternative, so I can keep the pressure on.
-CSPVG claims my exact name and role. Well crap; I was expecting something vanilla-ish. He's got my exact name (expected), and role (not expected). I figure he got a role and mechanics as some sort of aid in scum claiming; I wasn't sure how it would work, but I don't have enough details and I was sure Bler could come up with something. I saw the actor bit and figured maybe all scum were impersonators (flavor wise) and had a copy of a town role; again, Bler is smart enough to figure something out, and I don't have details. This is part of why I so heavily guarded my details. If scum DID have copies of town roles, then even just giving out my name could fully out me to them.
-I took some time to evaluate the possibility of proceeding without claiming myself, and decided to see if I could trip him up on the ID thing as a last ditch non-claim method. I abandoned the ID thing when I realized that some may know their ID, others may not, and it isn't conclusive either way.
-Fine, drop that I had a N0 investigation. Be very careful with the phrasing, to not leak that I expect to continue investigating, and also to imply without lying. Christi did pick up that I never actually claimed cop, just an investigation. This was deliberate on my part. I wanted to minimize the target on myself, while at the same time forcing scum to consider whether I'm actually minimizing the target on myself or whether I'm just holding back to draw a kill because my role is spent.
-D1 continues. I am pretty much stumped that town won't go for an easy scum kill. I've got the read, and I don't really see any way it makes sense for me to be placing my neck on the line like this unless I'm town. Even if I am scum making this play, if CSPVG flips town then they can just kill me tomorrow. My scum list starts to solidify, and then dang if people don't come out of the woodwork trying to screw it up. Surely they can't ALL be scum, can they?
