dedoporno: What? The game is over? I stopped paying attention long time ago, but still, that was anti-climactic.

So, who were the scum team in the end? Yog, HijacK and HSL/Books? I got those right :D Was there someone else though?

Anyway, the game looked great on paper!

Thanks guys, I missed the mchack part in that post since I just skimmed over it.

Ixamyakxim: Your claim was fine - I would just suggest in the future when you make a claim, especially one with a very *particular format* (insert italics here) sent to you in your PM, you dress it up a bit.

There's breadcrumbing and then there's quoting from PM. A lot of people, myself included, are a bit sensitive when it comes to the idea of a game becoming a bunch of people comparing PMs instead of backstabbing, shouting, fighting, lying and what the hell, deducing.
I think the issue is that there's overlap between the "comparing of PM information" and multiple people deciding to share information about themselves to try and further the helping of the group to achieve its goal. The whole point for town is to gain MORE information about each other so they can decide who is suspicious. I think coming forward with information (partial claims through a little bit more obvious approaches than super-vague bread-crumbing) at varying points is crucial for town to succeed, and it is mafia who want to prevent that from happening.

I am not supporting quoting PMs or comparing formats as a way to play, in fact that despises me, but I think everyone should be creative enough to, when they want to share information (or try and spread disinformation, if they're mafia, of course), that they can doso in a way that isn't quoting but "plays" the game that they come off either believable or not about their alignment and get judged on it, and the judges then get judged and it all unfolds like that.

hey, I was middle ground in your list (#151 dead thread) :P also I was the least suspected of the scum team by the end although I was doing two of the nightkills, having started the most "succesfull" wagon of day 1 out of nothing ;) *seems it even would have killed a neutral, so I might even have gotten town points for it if it had gotten through* and being on all the wagons that lynched townies...
As for posting less when the game was going on it was because of reallive being quite stressful (which is why I will sit out the next game) but having read all the scum howtos of mafiascum.net in the beginning it seems like a valid scum strategy to start strong and then grow less involved as time passess...

So all in all (while I might be as deluded in my self assertion as I think drealmer is) I think I didn't have a bad game for a first time scum...
avatar
drealmer7: **So fucking sorry Ix, I really thought there would be time to talk about the lynch/for you to give a defense or others to jump off your vote or make arguments why you shouldn't be voted for BEFORE it is finalized.
LOL no worries! When I went in the dead thread my first comment was something like "Huh, so Drealmr huh?" - I almost thought you were scum at that point just because I was not expecting a hammer vote from you.

But in the end it was a move that needed to be done (I was serious when I said I was a good lynch candidate, being a normal ol' townie and town REALLY a lynch! I just wish we could have gotten it before that failed crisis! Next time, next time... ;)

Ehh, to me you were the most obvious suspicious after your "reveal" and then given a pass (which I think is good to do because it allows town to pretty much put 1 very likely suspect on the backburner and use those angles to flush out a 2nd scum), but (at least I think) you were still super-high suspect for most people and I was figuring it would turn back to you sooner rather than later.

I think how it should have gone (I know, hindsight!) is that even with the initial pass given to mchack, the Ix wagon, before he was able to get lynched, should have been analyzed and we should have figured out who on it was most likely intruder (which I tried to do at a few points, focused on Vitek, but no one seemed to want to expand the discussion to other possibilities much at all, just making votes without much discussion or arguments for their points, it was really frustrating, which is another reason I was so wordy, just trying to get people talking about all the shit to get it dismissed as an idea or held up as a potential to be grown on.) Someone should have brought you up I think before Ix got lynched, absolutely. I should have brought you up after no one was interested in my Vitek arguments. Or we should have lynched you even earlier to reveal the truth about the whole thing and moved on to HSL who, to me, was actually 2nd most highest suspect and remained so even when adalia took over. More people need to contribute more, IMO.

The focus could have very well turned back to mchack had 2 people spoken up and said/ or just someone backed me up a bit with "right, Ix's wagon doesn't make sense, 1 or 2 is on it that is an intruder, who is most likely?" And I think any number of people still suspected you and could have suggested you (kryspyn, maybe that is what you were waiting for with the Ix flip?, to see that mchack pushed the Ix wagon? I need to read the dead-thread!) WE FAILED horribly, imo.

I never stopped pushing for mchack, but his wagon was going to go nowhere after the mod interfered.

Yeah, I figured we just had to wait for it to come back around to him as a viable option, which should have happened with the Ix wagon analysis pre-Ix lynching if not before (his lame re-arguments for the 2nd Ix wagon, I think should have been enough, but I was more certain of him and aiming for a 2nd scum, who I thought Vitek was pretty confirmed too because of the Ix wagon...such a weird game!) I still don't know why mchack didn't sabotage that crisis so I could catch him! I thought it was set so well to unfold that way. ARGH!

I would have liked more arguments from you, trentonlf, for mchack's case, or re-affirming previously made arguments, I think it could have been that veteran help that was needed to get things pushed in the right direction. Ah well, though! ah well!

trentonlf: I don't think JMich was acting scummy, he was playing it the best he could. I would not have voted him anytime soon.
Right, but we didn’t need you to. Remember, it wasn’t us that needed to be unanimous to win – it was you guys. All we needed to do was split up the votes between two competing wagons on Townies, and then rush one of them at the deadline.

QuadrAlien: HE WASN'T: Angela Rimmer (Head of Robotics)

There was something about that condition - it was carefully worded so that if a Neutral human could be found, the Droids could win with them. Flubbucket was recorded as having been aboard Space Station Epsilon, he just wasn't the Head of Robotics.
I don’t get this. What was flub, then? What was that? What?

trentonlf: I had sent you a one shot vigilante, was sad when they night killed you.
Another good call for Team Scum on the nightkill, then. :)

flubbucket: @mchack - meaningless bullshit between two savvy veterans not giving a crap.

....or not.
I’m quite comfortable standing behind that analysis, breadcrumb or no.

pfff to both of you. As for krypsyn go look through the deadthread he also didn't have me down as scum, Iirc.
But oh well. I believe Trent never stopped suspecting me (though the reason wasn't very good. I never wanted to go on yogs wagon, he was my scumbuddy!) but drealmer, I just don't believe you. Say what you like now, when the game was still running you never even put out a hint of suspecting me of anything and I was always on the low end of your scum lists. (latest 4 days before end of game)

anyway talking about ifs after the game is over is kinda moot. All I wanted was some kind of reaffirmation that I didn't totally screw up my first scum play, but it seems I won't be getting it from you.
For what it's worth, I actually enjoyed playing with you two (all of you really, btw, kryps I loved that death song you posted had it in my ear all day) and I don't think you screwed over you team either. (well wyrm kinda did ;P)

that's not what I said! but way to continue to play the scum role and manipulate my words!!! :þ

what I said was mchack was most certain, I thought vitek was certain too, then HSL/adalia, who seemed pretty scummy the whole time and the confirmed himself with the JMich interactions (why adalia went for pointing at me looking suspicious because of my claim and powers instead of going with me on JMich at that point I'm not sure, he seemed like a more viable target, but, either way, for me, that confirmed adalia scum because of trying to stir something between JMich and me.)

I didn't have hardly any a clue at all who the 3rd or 4th was once vitek flipped town, but you became more suspicious, certainly, because of the Ix wagon analysis, finding that 2nd scum aside from mchack aboard it early. I still thought it could have been flub or trent aside from you for 3rd, and no idea who 4th was but elimination only left carrion and hijack as options to add on after that, so, *shrug.* It wasn't too hard to figure for the most part, I'm not surprised RW almost quit/said it was a spoiled game, but we still failed at it, I would say. The hardest part was the timing of everything to get the votes in the right spot with the right analysis to be had. Again, we failed horribly and did ourselves in, I can't blaim you for abandoning the station!
