Would this be a bad time to vote for RWarehall?
Right.
Also.

Krypsyn: Also.
Lol.

Meta commentary:

So, as a practical matter QA is certainly long offline to bed given local time. There's no one left from the signup thread designated as a replacement. Off-hand, Sage is the only one I can think of who is a regular who has not made any appearance in the observer thread.

Now, that said, observer thread doesn't actually "know anything" unlike last game where quite a bit of the structure was shared by RW as mod.

Dedo returning in a different role would likely be problematic. The other alternative potentially would be Lift, who at least hasn't posted in the observer thread since 10/6, though that may indicate unavailability. At the least, he'd probably have a ton of catch-up to do which would be problematic for a game 1563 posts deep.

Cristi/Leonard/bude/moonshine have followed the game closer, but have also chatted quite a bit. May not know anything but certainly have exchanged ideas. Could step in faster if willing but with some trade-off.

TLDR: 16 person game that's already gone 2-deep onto the bench doesn't leave a lot of optimal options for finding new subs 3 weeks and 1500+ posts in.

While I'm sure QA will weigh in tomorrow on any ideas he may have for replacement/contingencies, the town/scum collective may also want to consider solutions in-game in the meanwhile.

Perhaps I should pull a Lucy and hang out my counseling/mediation shingle for $50/hr. ;)

Odds are, replacements won't be possible. Put in a request to be replaced before RWarehall did, but withdrew it considering that two people who are at each other's throats all game will probably do a good job of wrecking whatever isn't being killed by stalemate-induced boredom. Given that, finding a replacement for them takes priority.

Also, is it normal for non-players to be posting in the game thread?

adaliabooks: drealmer seems relatively suspicious too, the claim to investigate the participants of the crisis events is odd and he seems to have just picked the results of said investigation out of the air when questioned..
It's just a minor investigatory role. I thought it was odd too, honestly, but now I think we're in a role-madness situation and everyone has some sort ability, and so, my minor power makes sense. It could be possibly maybe somewhat useful depending, but likely not, is how I see it. It probably would have been a smarter play on my part to not investigate anyone on the first night in order to keep my power hidden and maybe be more effective using it in the future, with all of these seeming role-blocking roles, it was certainly silly to put myself out there so quickly as Health and Safety Executive and make myself a good target for a successful block by the intruders.

But, I kind of also think that the more information we have about everyone, the more likely we are to flush out who the intruders are, so I figured I'd put myself out there the rest of the way since I already had some. I know keeping secretive and not revealing much allows you to be less likely a target for intruders at night, but, (not that I think we can get this to happen) if everyone told all they could about themselves, we might be able to pick the liars out of the pile more easily because we'd have a lot of comparisons to make that would potentially make it easier.

I didn't pull my answer out of thin air, I simply didn't share EVERYTHING, trying to keep something to myself, but, when questioned about it, I figured why not, I'm not really good at playing dishonesty and I think it would have just come off suspicious had I said anything other than the truth, which is exactly what I said, I see how the person performed during the crisis event. (also I found the little probing a got to be possible intruders trying to get info from me.)

Also I figured, maybe with this known, we won't be having anyone sabotaging the Crisis Events. We can hope, anyway. We can also hope to NOT HAVE a crisis. I think it is weird people are wanting a crisis and kind of "the sooner the better" mentality. We're in a Crisis, and some of you want MORE bad stuff to happen? I find that suspect (oh hey, I see trentonlf said the same thing! good!)

RWarehall, just ignore the behavior you don't like if you can, it's going to happen sometimes in these games I think. Try and focus on the game and don't let it distract you, it could be intruder-tactics, anyway.

CarrionCrow: Also, is it normal for non-players to be posting in the game thread?
About game matters, no. It would be inappropriate for me to comment on actual game play in any circumstance. Comments on other topics only with serious consideration.

But there are typically 1-2 dozens posts by interlopers in any given game. One can even find non-players showing up [to vote] during RVS.

There's an argument that any response on what the replacement situation looks like should have waited for QA, but he's out tonight and no idea what his schedule will be for checking in on Sunday. Plus RW posted both here and in the admin thread.

If RW had only posted here, I would have stayed out of it as a purely in-game matter, or if the timing were different it could wait for QA to arrive. In lieu of the mod being here to comment, I'm merely clarifying that the mod's options may be limited.

Whether the collective will is to wait for resolution or not is up to y'all as players. Perhaps everything looks rosier in the morning of its own accord.

Off all the things HijacK has ever said, this is the one that made you quit?

Hoping a good night's sleep will smooth things over a bit.

Would hit help if I found HijacK and kicked him square in the balls? I'm probably closest.

All joking aside, I hope so as well.

My brother-in-law lives in Mesa. He is pretty big into CrossFit. You could pick him up on the way. :P
...Well, this is hardly the finest awakening I've had.

As Bler says, I'm a bit short-handed on the replacements list (I tried Sage last time and got no response), and CarrionCrow was looking for a replacement even before this. On top of that, I've already got some work I should be doing today, I've got quite a few things I'll be away for on various evenings next week, and I'm already worried about how someone's reacted to an email at work last week (I fear I've struck a nerve...)

I could see if one of those observing could be swapped in, but otherwise I'm really not certain where to turn to at this point.

RWarehall: HijacK you are just a fucking asshole! I'm sorry, I quit. I don't need to suffer your fucking insults. You are the biggest fucking jerk I have ever had the misfortune to play with. You constantly berate everyone else's play and make a total ass of yourself.

Q.U.A.D. find a replacement for me. I'm done playing with this fuckhead!
Off-game related:

If there is one thing that I stand less than lying is hypocrisy. You talk of insults, but you are no better. You brought them in our conversations and as a plus you also ignored questioning to the charges you brought forward, whereas I always answered your questions and explained myself. You brought miscellaneous points in conversation, points that were not even related. You said I'm not God's gift to Mafia, "insult" that guess what? Was directly quoted from you. Not only this, but you brought that line in a context where I have never said I am 100% sure I am right, or there was any claim of that type of sort. You called me useless when in retrospect you haven't done anything better. You accused me of not contributing, yet you yourself always failed to even answer the slightest of questions.

I won't be berated by someone who can't even see his own faults, especially in a game where all of us are supposed to have fun. You're playing foul, I'm going to call you on it.
I am not even sorry this happened.
Furthermore, you are the one that showed in a non-game related conversation he can't keep civilized and speak nicely, a conversation that in real life actually matters, so spare me the details. I don't actually care to hear them from someone like you. Hasta la vista.

mchack: any particular reasons, or are you having your RVS now, since you missed the original one almost 3 weeks ago?
It seems like a good spot to park it while I plow through the thread. I didn't find Ix's behavior particularly town while I was surface reading, and I'm willing to add to certain existing wagons while I go back through Day 1. I didn't care for Ix's wagon hopping, and I noticed that he seemed very invested in covering for someone else (drealmer? mchack? I don't remember right now).

I'm not willing to sacrifice Adalia quite yet, since he usually talks and I don't recall having much issue with HSL during Day 1. I think some of HSL's questions were more based on him misunderstanding the intent behind the initial speaker, but I'll be going back over that too.

-----

Interesting that Agent pulls out the slippery floor idea as the flavor on his roleblock. Of course, I didn't really expect him to be killed last night, and a roleblock on a town Agent does make sense as a scum play.

mchack: Yes I get all that and my alignment is Station Crew (Town) btw.
Note to self: I need to go back and look over this. Was it mchack that Krypsyn started the PM formatting lynch wagon on, or someone else?

adaliabooks: drealmer seems relatively suspicious too, the claim to investigate the participants of the crisis events is odd and he seems to have just picked the results of said investigation out of the air when questioned..
Agreed. I don't like the apparent misunderstanding about what his investigation is supposed to return. If he flips scum, I'm inclined to suspect scum have Day Chat. Until then, I'm operating under Night Chat only assumptions.

-----

avatar
RWarehall: The fact you continue to cast aspersions on my claim which the better players already see the only thing that makes sense is its the truth, suggests to me, you are likely scum.
Those better players have been wrong in the past, so I'm not taking them just at their word. I've already explained why I'm not entirely going to trust your claim at this time. In that very same post I even stated that I'm currently inclined to believe your claim.

avatar
RWarehall: While you have been very active in questioning the details of abilities which haven't been employed as yet. Funny, as it seems that information can be quite useful in making false claims in the future...
I already know what my claim is going to be, if (when) I make it. I've been [url=url=http://www.gog.com/forum/general/forum_mafia_31_crisis_at_space_station_epsilon/post1383]a [url=url=http://www.gog.com/forum/general/forum_mafia_31_crisis_at_space_station_epsilon/post1440]of things, especially about claimed abilities.

avatar
trentonlf: My guess is useless talk will continue until a crisis happens and then more useless talk will happen until a speed lynch happens on townie or a no lynch happens again. Maybe I'm wrong and the rest of town will actually pull their collective heads out of their ass and move this day forward, but my hopes are not high.
Work to change your prediction! Pick a candidate and build a case on them.
