Krypsyn: You could always vote for adaliabooks. ;)

But, perhaps not, since I am going to switch my vote back to HijacK. I was planning to do so anyway, since it doesn't seem the adaliabooks wagon is going anywhere. This recent claim from HijacK makes me even more certain. I am just not buying his claim. It is too convenient; plausible, but unconfirmable until someone else dies.

Unvote: adaliabooks
Vote: HijacK
I'll pull a JMich and say I reallY wish the no bets rule didn't exist. I want to challenge your actioN.

Anyway, off to class now. See you afterwards... or maybe not. Who knows?
@HijacK - You know, it's kind of annoying how you keep spelling 'possess' as 'posses'. :p

No point, he might just back off in the end :P

dedoporno: No point, he might just back off in the end :P
Unlikely, because this isn't a pressure vote looking for a certain response this time. ;)
avatar
RWarehall: Last letter, *hint* like your name!
avatar
HijacK: I don't even know who the observers are... Uhm... Vitek?

avatar
mchack: oookay. So that's your claim now? So whoever you used it on today, should know you are telling the truth?
avatar
HijacK: I'm the reserve, thus to use my power I need my successor to die, which means a Townie has to die, so not that Useful yet. Hopefully People won't be dumb Enough to lynch them too.

yogsloth: Is it too late to vote for CSPVG (no posts in 24+ hours), Sage (no posts in 48+ hours), or cristigale (no posts in 48+ hours)
since I don't care for lynching you, yet , and to a way lesser degree I'm also not keen on lynching adalia (might though to avert no-lynch)

I'm going to
Unvote
Vote CSPVG
I think it's a lost cause. Don't know where else to go, though. I'm not suicidal, I'm off HijacK's wagon, and I don't want adalia Today either.

Vote CSPVG

yogsloth: Want to watch me sign my own death warrant? :(
hehe, while reading back again a bit I noticed your rep reached the number of the beast with this post, I chuckled so I thought, I'd point it out.

ahh, this day dragged on and on and now that there's actually only a few hours left, I'd like to have more time, since suddenly there's all this action going on. :D oh, well. Guess my take home message is, I'll have to take care to vote sooner next time...
I'm back. I don't foresee being gone again this game. I'm still a day back in posts. Will catch up as soon as possible.
avatar
Krypsyn: Unlikely, because this isn't a pressure vote looking for a certain response this time. ;)
I was referring to the wager that is not going to happen. It's an inside joke :)

Anyway, I have a reason to believe HijacK's claim, so I won't be voting for him as originally intended.

My next in line was Books because of the RNG voting mostly. If CSPVG's wagon didn't get traction I would have probably went with him but things changed a bit and now both Books and CSPVG should be at the same vote numbers. In this situation I'll go with the lurkier one. Last game lurking was instrumental in Scum winning so it will have to do.

Lifthrasil: 3a. If your claim was true, it was as the same time outrageously stupid to sacrifice a town cop without need.
avatar
mchack: fair enough. It may be stupid, but if true wouldn't it be stupid for us to lynch our cop aswell and do the work for scum?
IF it were true, then yes. But since I don't believe that Yogsloth would risk a cop power role in such a stupid way, if he really were town, I don't believe that his claim is true. Sure, he has made strange plays in the past, but nothing as brash as claiming cop in the first post. So I still think that post was a lie and rather suspect that Yog is staging some risky scum ploy than that he is really a cop trying to throw his role away. There is one possibility how such a self-sacrifice could hurt less than I initially thought. But it still would be a self-sacrifice ploy and adalia has demonstrated quite aptly in the last game, that those stunts hurt town. So I still don't think yog would use it if he were town.

avatar
Lifthrasil: Lifthrasil: You are actually right. This double standard seems quite suspicious. Especially since I would expect a town HijacK to be all over someone who actually votes no-lynch, after it was already explained why no-lynch is a bad idea.
avatar
HijacK: Uhm....really? Aid me a bit. Did a similar event happen? Grant me one example of a similar event to the one described happening.
An example of you attacking someone, who does something you don't like? Really? There are too many examples to quote them all here. It is basically your standard modus operandi. And after you stated that you don't like talking about no-lynch, I think the expectation that you like voting no-lynch even less is quite reasonable. Or why did you see a no-lynch vote as actually less dangerous to town that just talking about no-lynch?

And now your claim. If I understand your claim, you will replace a certain, restricted power role but you will not have a restriction, once you take the job. If that claim is true, you would surely be useful for town. But it would also be a hellishly good claim for scum: it is not easily disprovable, it creates the (perhaps false) feeling, that lost power roles may not be as bad for town as they usually are and as the power roles die one by one, you can each time claim 'Nope, sorry, that was not the role I was supposed to replace.' ... So you basically have created a situation that spells 'Keep me around and maybe I'll get useful after someone else dies' ... I don't like it. It is possible that such a backup exists and it would be useful. I just don't like the situation that this puts us in.

But please, would you still reply to my question above?

Even worse, Yog's reaction made me think. He steps down from the probably only viable alternate train, which is quite suicidal so close to the deadline. Of course he points this fact out too - so it might be a desperate attempt at LAMIST ... but would scum really do that and not find a reason to keep pushing HijacKs wagon? Especially since that wagon still seems valid to some of us (me included). ... WIFOM of course. But still I have to think about this and we still have 9 hours to go. So for now, to avoid a mistake:

unvote Yogsloth

I will return in a few hours, read what was written until then and then decide, whether to throw my vote back on the Yog train or on HijacK or on CSPVG, who, as I stated previously, is also among my 'makes sense to lynch' targets. Damn. A few hours ago everything seemed quite clear. Now, with more movement and development, I have started to doubt...
I am comfortable voting gor CSPVG however I have not been able to get online since Saturday so I will be reading over now and seeing if my mind changes if not I will cast my vote.

(RL I did place second yesterday in my car class =) That is why I was not on at all)

Well, congrats then :D (though I don't really know what you mean by car class, but I'm sure it's quite an accomplishment :)

I'm on my way to work now. Will try to be on as much as possible, but might be I won't be there when it get's tough ... night shifts in the ICU are often quite work-laden and to top it off we are understaffed at the moment :/)

The smiley face makes me think this is a good thing since I don't know what that is, so congrats!

agentcarr16: @HijacK - You know, it's kind of annoying how you keep spelling 'possess' as 'posses'. :p
Ah, yes. I forgoT the other existed and totally ignored it. Apologies. Alas, you understood what I meant.

avatar
Lifthrasil: An example of you attacking someone, who does something you don't like? Really?
No. An example of me jumping all over someone who votes no lynch. I don't believe I am quite as vehement about no lynch as others.

avatar
Lifthrasil: And after you stated that you don't like talking about no-lynch, I think the expectation that you like voting no-lynch even less is quite reasonable.
That post reflected my disapproval of no lynch especially during day 1, unlesS the language used there didn't make it obvious. I'm generally not keen on no lynch as it is rare for the benefits to be there, but I won't vote everyone who votes for it. I also don't vote yog when he says something I disagree with or vote adalia for every little nonsense he comes up with. I also don't hound them for their plays unlesS I see them as inherently scummy. The correlation between me attacking people every time they do or say something I disagree with is not quite there. There are thingS that I will challenge, and thingS that I will give a pass. Agent voted no lynch. Well, if you really care that much to see what I saw different in agent's and mooneR's plays is this: Agent voted. He was sure of it. He thought he knew what he was doing. He didn't budge. Mooner only suggested such action. Maybe a newb play, maybe just waiting for approval. In many games scum had similar MO. This may be an exception, maybe not. Regardless, I shall do a favor to all and state one last time, the no lynch argument was the weakest of the 3 I brought up in terms of why I voted. If you think I voted solelY based on that then it's your illusion.

avatar
Lifthrasil: If I understand your claim, you will replace a certain, restricted power role but you will not have a restriction, once you take the job.
Then you don't understand it one bit. I will replace a power role that removes restrictions. It is nowhere said that the one who already has this power has any restriction. He may, or may not. I think he hasn't. Wouldn't make sense since I don't have one besides being the replacement.

avatar
Lifthrasil: If that claim is true, you would surely be useful for town. It is possible that such a backup exists and it would be useful. I just don't like the situation that this puts us in.
Again, you don't quite understand a thing of what I said. I don't replace just any role. I replace a specific role. I replace a restriction remover. The name of my role is Town Reserve Self-Help Guru.
Various Thoughts

In solidarity w/ HijacK, I'm going to attempt to use no 4-letter words. Besides, I'm bored.

avatar
mchack: The worst case scenario I imagine is we wake up tomorrow with yogs lynched and flipped town and two other townies dead. Why two? I find it odd that rware mentioned a serial killer twice, but maybe it's actually just a reference to some older game...
I think it is a reference to an older one, namely, Forum Mafia #28. There was a Serial Killer (flubbucket) who managed to convince everyone he was actually a Townie Serial Killer. It was pretty ridiculous. And I was Townie, so I can say it was ridiculous.

avatar
HijacK: It was getting ridiculous. Counting the Number of letters in every word got annoying fast. Now I need to count even more... I hate the edit elves... And the observers....
You probably get a lot of fun out of Calculus class, if you dislike counting the number of letters in words. I count things for fun!

I'm guessing our mischievous, mysterious elf is probably Leonard03, as he has an 'a' in his username and he was mentioned by Rwarehall as someone who had contributed a punishment. Could be moonshineshadow or Brasas or Quadralien, though.
Really, HijacK, it's not difficult. Put a bit of effort in it, man!

Alright, now I'm certain of who you are. And I'm pretty certain about HijacK as well. Actually, I was wondering if someone of his description would appear.

Krypsyn: But, perhaps not, since I am going to switch my vote back to HijacK. I was planning to do so anyway, since it doesn't seem the adaliabooks wagon is going anywhere. So it's not visible to you, either. For me, HijacK's claim is basically the one way he could convince me he's Townie. Any other claim would be suspicious.

avatar
Krypsyn: Unlikely, because this isn't a pressure vote looking for a certain response this time. ;)
Now I'm wondering if you're mafia. That's too simplistic for you.

I realize effort is difficult for you, Kryps, buddy ;) but you're capable of figuring out several great reasons that HijacK's claim is Townie. Think about yogsloth's claim.

unvote no-lynch No, I'm not changing my opinion about the viability of no-lynch, but now I've got a target.

Vo-o-o-ote... Krypsyn

Not trying is scummy.
