Dzsono: Most of all, I don't know how to refer to other GOGlodytes when I don't explicitly know their sex
Just use "xe" or "they".
Hahahah! :D
Good points!

JMich: There was an attempt to link at a site, but I'd guess the rep limit prevented him. Not to mention he didn't properly tag it.
In the spirit of this thread, I fixed your comment ;)

Dzsono: There are many conflicts in forums that could easily be avoided but for the medium itself. Bereft of non-verbal cues, it's hard to tell if someone is joking, sarcastic, sad, happy, serious or surprised.
I think I have a solution for this part. A simple set of text-based cues.

Examples:

#1 - Hey all, how's it going? [ I"M SAD!!! ]
#2 - I don't think I can agree with you on that. [ I'M SURPRISED!!! ]
#3 - And don't call me Shirley! [ I'M SERIOUS!!! ]

I think that adequately illustrates my idea for a new forum chatting system.
We can work out the details as we go along.

Who's with me!? [ I'M JOKING!!! ]

So a question mark makes it sad, a point makes it surprised, an exclamation mark makes it serious, and an exclamation and question mark makes it joking? I don't think this will hold up.

Tauto: Not here.
Please let this thread die the quiet slow death it deserved. The last thing we want to do is rile up the Offendo-Trons.
