Matewis: Love it :) It has a real carefree 90s adventure vibe, and it does remind me of some film's music but for the life of me I can't put my finger on it.
Looks like a great game too. Can't wait until I get a good nintendo console one day when I have the moola and time for one :\

You are going to make me install Dawn of War again! 40K is undoubtedly the coolest gaming universe I never ever want to visit :P

As for music my two favorite pieces:
They are my space marines
Gods of War
Fallout Tactics music is not that memorable to me (it is usually just some eerie atmospheric sounds rather than actual music, similar to Fallout 1-2)... but in the Junction City mission, there is surprisingly good piano music when you fight the Reavers outside the city. The kind of music I even want to stop plyaying to hear it, especially because reloading a save game (after your party member dies) resets the music to start from the beginning.

I wouldn't call it "epic" music, it is kind of simple piano music that starts small and then grows and grows all the time, becoming fuller all the time.

I tried to find it from Youtube... but for some reason I can't find it? There are some Fallout Tactics OST and soundtrack compilations in Youtube, but I didn't find that piece of music in them with little search. Also when I checked some gameplay videos on that mission, I didn't recognize the same music but then it was usually quite hard to hear the music as the player was speaking on top of the video and the sound effects were much louder than the music.

I am not playing the vanilla game but using Redux mod 1.3, but I presume the mod doesn't change the music?

EDIT: I see the GOG version (Fallout Tactics Classic) comes with the "original sountrack" as mp3 files in the extras, I'll check if it includes that piece of music.

EDIT2: And no, it is not Sandstorm by Darude.

EDIT3: I didn't find that piece of music from those 20 mp3 files that the GOG version includes. I think those are the same pieces of music as the Youtube soundtrack videos have, as there are also 20 separate videos. God damn it, should I try to record the music from within the game and put it to Youtube? Not sure what would be the best way to record music from there.

EDIT4: With little googling, apparently Audacity is a good software to capture and record any audio from a Windows PC. I think I'll try that.

Emob78: This song (the unofficial theme song for the gog forum, btw) will change your life.

Pay very close attention to the lyrics. Deep thoughts, friends.

Hehe. This song springs to my mind as an appropriate official song for the GOG forums... :)

I've never really tried Tactics, but I quickly listened to some of its soundtrack. I love it :) Just like FO1 and 2 it's not really music as much as it's eerie atmospheric background sounds like you said. But it really works for me. I sometimes even listen to FO1's soundtrack when I'm working.

And I know the pain all too well of not being able to find a cool song you heard in a game :P In civilization 3 there is this one awesome piece that plays somewhere in the industrial era I think, and I can remember parts of it quite clearly. However I've never been able to find it on youtube. I think the problem is that with the expansions some of the music tracks got replaced with new ones.
Till this day Extermination for PS2 had the best boss theme that was so emotional when you fight your friend

I want to add the main menu theme from the new Doom game.

I like that one comment in the comment section that says "I have the sudden urge to do a fat line of cocaine."
I think nobody mentioned it yet (or the search system sucks):

The main theme of Star Wars: Republic Commando is pretty epic. Mandalorian, too.

I actually went ahead and recorded the music myself directly from the game with Audacity. It worked quite well, now I have a good quality audio file of it (just for the sake of it, I have it as a flac, ogg and wav now).

I was going to make a simple video of it with a still picture and post it to Youtube... but for some reason I have hard time trying to find some free Movie Maker replacement (Movie Maker was discontinued in January I think). I need to ask about that in another thread.

EDIT: And of course it didn't occur to me until now to check the FO:T installation directories... and yep, the music is there in a mp3 file, so I wouldn't have had to record it at all. It is this one:

C:\GOG Games\Fallout Tactics\core\music\battle\MX_BA_REA.MP3

Oh well, at least I now know how to use Audacity for other games where the music isn't as easily available...

Epic music, absolutely wussy battle.

Here's one of my actual favorites.

This one literally has a scream in it.

I finally managed to make a (music) video of the Fallout Tactics tune, so here it is:

Brilliant piece that just gets better and better the longer you listen. Really makes me want to play the damn game. I've added the music to my playlist for the time being :)

Hello Matewis I got another one for you.

If you read the Tolkien book the Silmarillion, you know what this image is (if you don't it is the City of Gondolin)

And I know the perfect piece of music to go with the image:

Ah thank you I haven't heard that theme in ages! I used to play EQ2 for a bit not long after its release. It's a beautiful piece, my favorite I think :) Personally I can hear it more in a Conan type setting than a Tolkien setting, perhaps in part because I'm nuts about Howard Shore's music, which have come to define the Tolkien universe for me. And Silmarillion? No not yet, I want to finish LotR first. Last I read I just got past the Shelob bit.

Right now I'm playing some Trine, and the series has some truly beautiful themes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXKPEeJbJSs
