RWarehall: Grom Grombly

If there is anyone still in the center chamber...
I look at the centipede, point to the closest person to me as if to say he did it...
lol

Assuming a 20' centipede is too wide to enter the smaller tunnels what with legs and all, I would think you would want to pick one of those specifically.

Just, you know, don't lead it south. ;)

** TURN 2 **

65 - Grom Grombly - Half-Orc Shaman and 51 - Henz - Elf Thief both run for the northern tunnel (main)

*rolls dice*

The centipede moves to intercept but instead notices others that are not moving nearby.
73 - shamus - Drow Brigand is snapped in half and quickly devoured.

65 - Grom Grombly - Half-Orc Shaman and 51 - Henz - Elf Thief reach the main northern tunnel safely.
20 foot long centipede
Oops.

mrkgnao: From within my hiding place inside the southeastern column, I listen to the sounds emanating from the chamber, as well as to the receding voices down each of the six tunnels.

By my count, besides myself, there are only six unfortunate souls left in the central chamber:
65 - RWarehall - Grom Grombly - Half-Orc Shaman (raring to go at whatever emerges from the grate)
51 - kusumahendra - Henz - Elf Thief (still lingering dazedly by the now empty hornet chest)
59 - Lemmus - Cicatrix - Drow Ranger (preparing for the incoming horde by verifying the gender of fellow adventurers)
68 - matterbandit - Peloquin - Dwarven Thief (wisely hiding in the shadow of the northwest pillar)
54 - Korotan - Karanos - Half-Orc Cleric (not given to much loquency)
73 - ww_gog - shamus - Drow Brigand (remarkable for his otherworldly drow silence)
Four have left (one to the western tunnel, two to the northern tunnel, and one to the big tunnel in the sky) and one has joined, so at the moment, I believe the only ones left in the central chamber, beside myself, are:
59 - Lemmus - Cicatrix - Drow Ranger
54 - Korotan - Karanos - Half-Orc Cleric
99 - Doc0075 - Cutesy - Giant-Centipede Sword-Wielder
Cicatrix holds on to the chain (in case it automatically retracts) and tests to see if it's attached to anything to attempt a second climb.

If that doesn't work she'll reposition to the side tunnel of the Southern exit. [Doc: I said Northern in my msg, but obviously that's cut off.]

(Sorry, not trying to do to much, it's just not clear how long turns are).

Doc said turn duration will be determined by progress, and you can take multiple actions per turn. So... sort of try to keep up with the others.

Just FYI - we don't know how wide the centipede is. So if it was able to fit through a grate (we don't know how big it is), it's entirely possible it can fit through the side entrance...you should ask Doc how wide is it, and if it seems able to fit in there too. Since being stuck in a tunnel blocked by people in front of you might be worse, haha! (if you don't "metagame" by reading what's ahead of you).

Otherwise the way shouldn't be blocked to any of the tunnels, but the centipede might intercept you. Maybe the better question to ask would be, "Which of the tunnels is in the direction the centipede isn't facing at the moment, and I could sneak into without it noticing".
This game is incredible fun, and whether or not I win anything, it has been great. In fact, I may donate a prize or two for the end because how big this is and how overwhelmed DOC must be.
Doc, where are you, we want to continue this game! Pls :\

Doc's juggling 5 threads and 80 players, and presumably also IRL ;)

He updated three of the threads late yesterday, so I would assume he'll be back around later today. Be patient ;)
The centipede is still in the main chamber, isn't it?

I know I know, but 2 days for a turn is still excruciating (+_+)

Two days per turn was what Doc expected when first posting the challenge, at which time they expected fewer than 20 players. With over 80 in the game and the fact that they're doing this solo in their spare time, the turns were updated to be more flexible.

Unless a lot of people die quickly, I'd guess we're going to be around a week per turn, especially with each of the four groups being run separately.

To be honest, I was kinda expecting a meteor shower falling down out of nowhere and killing half the players on Day 1. ;) The time and dedication that Doc is giving once again to the community is admirable, so it's understandable if turns go a bit slower. It's not a bad thing. At least in the Westerm tunnel it's giving us the chance to discuss strategy and exchange ideas.
