Sachys: :D

Turned out rather well. Was it a cartridge / dip pen you used?!

InfraSuperman: I used a fineliner for the inking, on the cheapest paper imaginable.
Heheh! I used to use photocopier paper and "value" brand Biros when I was in comics. :D

That reminds me of an interview with the author/artist of "The Crow", James O'Barr, where he said that he exclusively used cheap pens and colours from Kmart; because, over the years, he had simply learned how to make those work for him.

Yup - and its possibly the same interview with him that kept me going when I had no money for tools. Now I purely do digital though - for both the low cost* and health reasons - im heavily arthritic and a wacom sylus is much better on my hands than a pen or pencil. also the "undo" function is great if i have a spasm!

*that is - open sourced stuff, and programs like artrage. photoshop gets to be more of a rip off each new version. they really need to make the older versions available cheply and piracy will plummet.
Oh, botheration. Either my computer or the posting is acting up for me, I'm giving up out of frustration. Happy birthday and have fun looking at the entries.
Rather a cool speedpaint of an epic landscape by a bloke I vaguely know (awesome soundtrack also by him!)

Sachys: snip
I'm not interested in any prizes. I'd feel bad if my art won any awards or recognition. I just wanted to amuse you with my sacrilegious replication. I had fun with it anyway waiting for my Dota match to start. :P

zeogold: Edit:
Changed my mind, I'm not in after all since when I say I'm bad at art, I mean it. I won't color, either.
Worse than me? I doubt it. :D

Ok, well you asked for it... never say you didn't. Let's just say if you need some numbers crunched, you might get a better result :-p

...AND I AM POOPY AT THIS. But I went with a sort of small, pixel-y game-y aesthetic.

I mean... I think?
That is awesome. That's like Sachys-Vader-With-His-Helmet-Removed awesome. I'm not sure if I'm in yet, but obviously stand by for this space to have an edit and an attached image... shortly...

I'm going to dig around in the basement and see if I can turn up one of those .99 cent kids' set of 5 watercolors - just add water! And fill in the empty Sachys put up.

Also, pretty neat to see the "blown up" version of your avatar! Like it even more now that I can see the bugger!
:P

Heheheh! One of my nicknames is Bullet-head (from when I have a shaved head) - perfectly fitting image. :D
Since you did allow tracing, I traced the lineart from your original image...
and ruined it completely.

Anyhow, in all its glory, EGA palette, 12 colours (including the background), zoomed in 4x for easier viewing, here is my "work".
Kinda makes you look more 'noble' and less happy. Haven't pixelled in ages, so this was fun, even if it was derivative. Thanks!
