I don't buy CDs anymore. I just buy digital albums. Saves me space and money.

Saves money? The average download costs £7.99 here. What a waste of money for absolutely nothing.

On my HDD? Or physical storage space? I'll just delete something I don't need or stuff it under magazines. And one game per two months at most won't build up quickly.

If you keep buying physical copies of games, movies, music etc, then in time, you will run out of space unless you have a huge house all to yourself or rent storage space.
I'm thinking of picking up Mafia 2 on cd later this week. Is it worth it or should I try a cheaper DRM laden download? After my GTA 4 cd rom debacle the difference between the two is going from minor to gaping.

Mafia 2 requires Steam, even if you buy it on retail. If you are fine with that, then go ahead.

Nah, only game DVDs and that is when they're either new or very cheap. Still have a 3/4th of a row in a shelf to store the boxes on.
I still buy CDs (only without copy protection) and DVDs.

I would be still buying games on disk, if there following were given:

- original/English localization (except for native German games)
- uncensored
- No online (Steam) or intrusive (Safedisk/SecoROM) DRM

This all coming together has become so rare, that I've given up looking for physical versions of games altogether, except for a few very rare cases. I really had considered buying Witcher 3 as a boxed copy, but in the end I decided to pre-order because I wanted to support CDPR and also GOG game me a nice discount for owning the previous games. And with games in the full-price category and a family of four (+ cat) to feed I have to act at least a little responsible.
For music releases, I prefer Audio CDs.
Whats this futuristic medium you talk about, I still have to manually turn over the tapes!
Seriously though, for games Steam killed that off, nothing on the disc (or in the case) other than client.
For music, I occasionally buy CDs, and occasionally buy digital. So maybe 60/40 favouring CDs, you can't beat something tangible.
