What good news, the bad thing is that they are not interested in publishing it in GOG :(

bhrigu: Serious Sam 2 and 3 should be stable by now....

SCPM: Well, here is Croteam's response regarding Talos Principle on GOG:
"Also, if GoG supported Steam keys, they would be selling Talos now.[...]"
This is one of the most idiotic and retarded answers that I have ever heard to justify why a game isn't for sale on GOG.
I think I read somewhere that Croteam were considering remaking Serious Sam 2 with a less silly graphical style and script- basically keeping the plot outline and level design, but making everything else more in like with the rest of the series. Not sure if that's ever going to happen though. Probably right after we get a PC port of The Next Encounter.

But whever form it takes, more Serious Sam is always welcome.

Wonder if we could get him to cross over with Bombshell... a Build engine Sam game might be interesting.

A full SS2 remake is still a thing and Croteam said several times it should come out sometime after SS4. If you look at their Serious Sam VR game from last year, they already used some of the remade SS2 enemies for that game.

The Next Encounter was not developed by Croteam and I have never heard them talk about remaking it. There was a very ambitious fan project to remake it, but it seems to be dead.

Grargar: Can't wait to see to see what kind of DRM they will implement this time around.
avatar
ReynardFox: This is of no use to GOG, we don't even have Serious Sam 2 even though that game is DRM free on Steam.
avatar
Grargar: It's not. Croteam have added Steamworks to the game, making it dependent on the client. Just stick to your retail copy.
For the longest time I saw SS2 on lists of DRM-free Steam games, is this an error or did they add Steamworks into it later and lists aren't being updated?

Not that it matters, after hearing Croteam say their games would be on here if GOG sold Steam keys, I think i'm officially done with any monetary support for these jerkasses.

They added Steamworks so the multiplayer and other online features would be modernized and continue to survive without Gamespy. Most people would praise this, but I know GOGites (myself included) have other priorities.

Crosmando: How To Make a Serious Sam Game:

- Create a big, featureless map of nothingness.
- Dump dozens of stock enemies into it.
- Set player spawn point

Finished
Add a bunch of guns .

They probably forgot to remove it from the wiki after Steamworks functionality was added four years ago. I have the game on Steam, but I was never able to get it to run without the client.

Actually, Serious Sam FE and SE are also superbly designed arcade shooters, they eat Painkiller and Doom 2016 for breakfast when it comes to encounter and level design. But they are just that - arcade shooters.

Also, Croteam can suck cock for not bringing their newer games here, despite Serious Sam 3 being meh, and Talos Principle being bad.

*sigh.*

Some developers must be reminded that their attitude can detriment the game...
