Devolver Digital Tweeted :

Serious Sam 4 from @Croteam is coming to E3 2018, watch the teaser trailer and wishlist on Steam
*the tweet also contains links to the trailer

I have noticed that we do get a lot of titles published by Devolver here on GOG.
Yet, when it comes to Serious Sam games we only have the first two games and the Bogus Detour one.
This tweet, too, mentions only Steam.
So is there any chances we will get it on GOG? And why have the older Serious Sam games not appeared on this store?
So, yeah, I saw the Serious Sam 4 trailer. For some reason it was muted, so I didn't know how it was intended to sound and my brain automatically applied Legacy by The Gone Jackals as the soundtrack.

Nope. Steam workshop and mods. Galaxy will be ready one day...in a galaxy far away.
Yeap, don't expect anything here from Croteam.
They were very clear about that with The Talos Principle.
My order of preference is: Boxed-GOG-Steam. Even though the boxed version will 100% require Steam too, it is still preferable for me over pure digital.

Can't wait for the E3. For me, this is instant buy on release day no matter what. Best FPS of the year is finally coming.

You know the boxes often only contain a disc that installs Steam on your computer and adds the game and starts downloading 100% of it. Sometimes when you open the box, all there is is a note with the code for the game...
neat

Wasn't SS4 a given a while ago?

Serious Sam Fusion, a platform spanning all Serious Sam titles, is meant only for Steam. As a countrymate of Croteam, I'm sorry for this, guys.
Serious Sam 3 was quite good, surprisingly. Better than 2.
I'm still hoping for some fast paced Quake 5.
neato. i will start caring as soon as serious sam 2 and 3 show up here.
Let's bring Serious Sam 2 here.Would be awesome ;).Cheers

I wouldn't say often.
In most cases, there is at least one DVD with as much data as can fit on it, which is installed from the disc and then the rest is downloaded. Some games can still fit on a single (or multiple DVDs) and you need Steam just to activate it. The method I encounter the most is a partial install from the DVD and the rest (and additional updates) is downloaded if the game is bigger than 1-2 DVDs. But there still are games that come on 3-4 DVDs with only updates to download. It saves a lot of time with downloading and you can play the game several hours sooner.

I could count the cases where there was only a code in the box of a game I bought on one hand. And I avoid those anyway (it is the reason I didn't buy C&C Ultimate Collection for example).
I'd love to see the Serious Sam games here especially since they're one of the best optimized games for Linux, a shame Croteam seems opposed at the idea of making that happen.

A few years ago I got SS3 as part of a DRM Free + Steam keys Humble Bundle, of which I still haven't launched the game once cause of Steam and its' DRM.
