CarChris: [...] I suggest you buy the games, people, even at full price.
If not to play them [...], just for collective reasons.
Sorry, but there's no reason "to collect" digital games, which you don't intend to play.

There may be some reason to collect analogue stuff, which you don't intend to use (though I don't get that mindset) ...but there's definitely no reason to do so with digital stuff.

Much less "at full price".

king_kunat: Per the publisher's request both The Suffering and The Suffering: Ties That Bind will leave our store on September 1st (no exact hour yet).

Grab the game before that if you're interested. And as always, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Noooo! The games still aren't discounted...
@GOG: C'mon, add them to the sale

Agreed. Please put them on sale so I can buy them before they get removed. Only have enough for one right now until I get paid.
Will this still be available on Steam, if yes, why they're removing it from here only?...

Anyway.. there should be some kind of store-publisher-developer accord that prevented original games from being removed from stores, even if some kind of remake were to be made. No joke, this is annoying.
Only it the new remake would come also with the originals - without any change to them.

"What about the licensing" - yeah, the biggest problem with music, assets, brands, and so on - why not some kind of deal for a lifetime license for that game in specific instead of "rented this license for 5 years" kind of deal?
I bought "The Suffering" here long ago. It is a good Western Horror game before Outlast and the rest with Obscure and a few others being exceptions. Very interesting way the game plays and how it effects your ending. Nice, innovative feature.
I had played it long ago on the XBox so knew I had to get the PC version when I got the chance. The XBox version includes a documentary on the disc talking about the most haunted prison in America and its history. I have no idea if this documentary is on the PC version though.
I didn't buy the sequel as I heard it wasn't that good.

I'm disappointed by the sale…

Your majesty, your people! They are begging for discounts!

Yeah, but only because I don't get paid until after the delisting. Didn't even know these were on GoG until I saw they were going to be removed. Loved playing these on PS2 back in the day so I'd love to play them again.

I'm not begging.
I'm inviting GOG to make me a better offer. Just in case they want to earn something instead of nothing.
GoG is not doing offers, GoG is doing sales.
No matter, i think the publisher got the very best advertisement ever. In theory the game could just become removed instantly but i guess... i would not mind some thousand coins for one week delay, my car needs repairs, the table want food and my skin need some clothes, guess the same for the devs.

The even bigger question, why to remove it at all or... will it come back?

There is no evidence it ever was on Steam.

Nope, Steam does not host every game ever made... but a lot at least.

Not on GOG, not on Steam. Then... to oblivion? :(
If only someone were to do a giveaway or other next month and pass on a copy to some lucky soul. One can hope ;)

Very good question. Warner Bros got no intention to leave GoG, there are a good bunch of franchises on Gog with way higher "value" to them.

Usually stuff like this happens either if the owner is changing or if another host is paying a lot for a exclusivity deal... something in this direction. The effort for leaving it here was close to zero, as it has not been updated for a eternity. If they just want to release it on a bigger platform, this was always possible...

These sudden removals of games with no final discounts (especially for games that used to be discounted often) just reek of shady FOMO tactics by the publishers.
A lack of final sale is unfortunate. I would have happily FOMO'd the two games had there been a sale like there's been in the past (I did it for FH4 recently) but i've only a passing curiosity in the titles so am in no way dropping full price on them.
