looks like important stuff like this still isn't deemed important enough by gog to post as an actual news item to reach more people. not that anybody would notice it on the bottom, the perfect place for news, right under a billion banners constantly promoting the same shit, but at least it'd show up in the rss feed as well.

another place it should be mentioned is the store pages themselves, don't you think? of course you don't.

idbeholdME: Wait wait wait, what? Unless there is a remaster or something coming, I see zero reason for this. Why does WB giveth (LEGO LOTR) but also instantly taketh away on the same day?
Tax shenanigans...

Hillsy_: On a separate note, wasn't Obscure on GOG at some point, did the sequel ever release on the PC or appear on GOG. Then again, I don't think either of them would have worked on modern OSes too. Maybe I'll do some digging at some point...
Original Obscure was on GOG - I somehow own it. Do not have the sequel. I bought it when I was chain-buying almost any older game that both came up on gog and came up on sale (2009)

Why did Obscure 1 leave GOG?
And how come Obscure 2: The Aftermath never come to GOG?

For some reason, both of those Obscure games (Obscure 1 and 2) are still sold on the other store that has elbow-pipes.

This should be plastered on the MAIN sales page NOT in a forum. Low effort really.

"Obscure" was released on GOG on May 12, 2009.
Somewhen between that date and January 15, 2010, it got pulled from GOG again.

Someone mentioned licensed music as the reason (Sum 41 and SPAN were prominently displayed on the box cover).
I have no clue, whether that's correct.

"Obscure II" was released for PC, but never made it onto GOG.

But, Obscure 1 and 2 are still sold on Steam; so did they pull the Sum 41 and SPAN songs in those versions?
Or are they still here?

If it isn't license issues - then, why's it not here GOG? Did the dev's (are they even around still?) or publisher just not want to sell the game here on GOG sadly anymore?

If I would have to wager a guess, I'd say the sales here on GOG weren't satisfying.

So, after they pulled the game from GOG; they saw no reason to put it up again, when they could.
A new GOG release simply wasn't worth the hassle.

Agreed, be better GOG!

Why should this game(s) be treated differently from all the other delisted game(s)?

"Still Waiting" by Sum 41 and "Don't Think the Way They Do" and "Baby's Come Back" by Span were removed in the Steam version.

Hydravision Entertainment studio that developed the games has closed but the new one emerged from it - Mighty Rocket Studio (which is listed as publisher of ObsCure games on Steam). It seems that company still runs with only 2 people. Still hoping they will come (back) here one day.

Can't say - but I suspect the reason it came to GOG at all was at the time GOG was putting effort into distributing older games and steam was not - I think it was still being curated. Steam now of course will sell almost anything.

Wishlist entries for ObsCure and ObsCure: The Aftermath (a.k.a. ObsCure 2), if you haven't voted for them already:

Because they're Good Old Games....
I have them on disc, but no longer have a disc drive. Would gladly buy them again on GOG, but not for 10€ a piece.
Hopefully there will be a sale in the last days.
