Hello. I'm making this post to make ourselves heard by the gog team.

We are many to note that gog is deteriorating with the French community. Since last year, we don't have anyone who takes care of the french support. Whether it is the support by e-mail or the french forum. We don't have a "Comunity Manager" who really takes care of the social networks or even monitors the French forum. Or even "Discord". It's been more than 6 months since the "Comunity Manager" left without any news.

The news about the release of the games, sales and others are also always late here. Currently it's been a week since we had any news. In short, we have the impression that we are left to ourselves without any gog person.

If the gog team wants to improve things and show that they care about the french community. Thank you for letting us know.

Yes as a french gamer and customers of GOG for several years I would like to point the same problem as Angelblue as he tell
The support disapeared and so the CM of GOG we had
It's a huge problem for us, french people to letted down by gog
We can think that you don't care about us, somehow we are a great community for GOG
So it will be very nice to have a following support for the french community because we deserve it
let the french community down and we will let you down, think of that

No offense, but I believe GOG's ability to let communities down is international :P.

Yeah, I've occasionally checked the french forums, and... while the moderation in the english boards is kinda roughly mostly more or less globally close to somewhat okay-ish in the grand scheme of things, the french boards are an absolute septic tank. Complete with french extreme-right links peppered within pro-putin apologies of Ukraine's invasion. Stuff that wouldn't fly (outside weekends) in the english part of the site make the norm in the french section.

But deciding to make the main forums somewhat breathable had already been a 10 years effort for gog, I wouldn't expect any miracle in the exotic languages subforums. So I just stay in the area where the CoC applies.
They cut the news in Chinese and Russian, I wouldn't be surprised if they cut support for another language, they probably figured it isn't worth the expense.

Cute cat! Is it yours?
Honestly despite being a native french speaker I have to admit that I totally forgot there even was a french forum...

Many people unfortunately forget that. I have to say that the forums are not very well done I think. It's not really gog's strong point.

I can't imagine any Frenchperson willing to work or live in Poland. Current aggravating circumstances aside, the French have it nice as workers. Several public holidays, mandated vacations, plenty of negotiation rights...more to the point, why would a helpdesk person need to be at location to do their job?

I've ragged on this time and time again, but GOG's employment opportunities are as good as dead until they eliminate this line:
The hired individual will need to work in-house, in our office based in Warsaw, Poland.

Same. I talk with my coworkers, with my mother and my friends in French. About 35% of the music I listen to is French. I'll also talk to most of the strangers I encounter outside in French.

However, I work in English (communicate in French with coworkers, but the code is in English and so is any documentation or learning material anywhere on the internet), talk with my wife in English, read in English, watch tv in English and play games in English (although if there is a book, show/movie or game that was made in French and translated to English, then I'll consume it in French as I prefer the original format, but it is less common).

I like my mother tongue and always had good grades in French, but English is just too darn convenient. At some point, you need to be practical about those things.

I have the same experience of GOG French forum. So despite being a French native speaker, I would rather see it closed down than maintained in its current state.

yarp!

especially when the wider gaming industry has mostly adopted remote working as a standard (big sweaty corporate studios aside) for most staff.

community management though? knowing more than a handful of CMs, its generally remote work anyway.
