akhliber: Stopping in for a quick hello, the lady and I are about to have a movie night with dinner. I'll try to stop back by later on tonight after lady and pup are asleep to say hello again and see how everyone's doing this weekend. I wish you all the best!
I hope it's a good movie. Which is it?

CarrionCrow: Frigging wonderful. Please tell me you're getting at least a little downtime to avoid total burnout?
Maybe Easter...

ElTerprise: Oh :(
Really sorry to hear that - hope that your father-in-law will be better soon...

Never been to the book fair - really want to do that at some point. That sounds really great and like a really good diversion :)
Me too :-/ He's 69 and they removed about 1 litre of fluid from his lungs and we still don't know where it came from - there are multiple possible reasons and most are between bad and really bad. Heart, kidneys...
He really wasn't well and they put him into CT last week saying they will have results after seven days. Next day they called and told him he should pack his things for the hospital immediately...
Of course this is really hard on my wife. And now the kids don't sleep because they miss her. I've been in the hamster wheel for two weeks now and I'm so fucking tired...

But aside from that it was a really nice day today: http://www.manga-comic-con.de/Besucher/Profil/Impressionen/ <- currently the pics are from last years, this year's photos should be up by tomorrow.
My logitech mx 518 mouse or what ever is being an ass

The last of the Hunger Games movies. We're not expecting a lot from it, but it should go well with some good food and drink. :)
I know I've complained a lot about Super Meat Boy, mainly due to its endless urge to break my spirit and leave me sobbing in a corner, but holy crap, the soundtrack is just amazing. Listening to it right now, would highly suggest others to do so if they want to hear how incredible game music can be.

Oh...that doesn't good at all....
That's understandable that it's hard for your family. I hope you can get some rest during Easter...because you need some rest...
*big energising hug*

That's at least really good thing. The prictures look really nice. Will check the site again tomorrow :)

I know that soundtrack already. It is really good - wasn't surprised about that because the composer also made the incredible Crypt of the Necrodancer soundtrack. Some games whave really awesome soundtracks :)

CarrionCrow: Okay, since I'm waiting anyway, maybe someone can give me a hand with this.

Not sure if I've picked up every piece of shit GOG has to offer, would like to round out the collection of awfulness.
I know about the obvious ones, but I'm sure there are some I've missed. Any suggestions?
Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods. It's an expansion pack of Gothic 3, a flawed but good game in my opinion.

First some info on Gothic 3. It had a HUGE open world (that is still one of the biggest ever) with no in game loading screens, great atmosphere and fun (if basic compared to the first two games) combat...oh and one of the greatest video game soundtracks I've heard. Its flaws were mostly its kinda broken engine that led to tons of lag, generic quests and a mostly bare bones (but not bad) story.

Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods managed to mess up almost every single thing that it didn't recycle from the base game. Despite
taking place on the same landmass it made at least half of the map inaccessible, the story doesn't quite gel with the ending of the base game and more! The main character has a new voice actor but (!!!) they still used the old voice actor's clips for grunts/screams/etc! Plus there are now Bethesda style immortal NPCs, whereas in the base game you could empty the entire world if you wanted.

It's a bad sequel and it's a bad game on its own. "Enjoy"!

Too bad that the gog version comes with the community patch. The original would be even worse :D

The guy does incredible work. If I had a game that was good enough, I'd want them doing the music.

That sounds awful. I look forward to playing it. =)

Yeah, that one was from a different (cheap newbie) team after Piranha Bytes (I really like this name...) cut their ties with notoriously bankrupt JoWood. It's badness is legendary.

Missed that post earlier ;-)

Deathtrap Dungeon - still on sale. Unfair, bad camera, frustating controls (you often have to stand in exactly the right spot, while you have only a few seconds until something kills you). One of the few games I really consider abysmal. And for you it should be a challenge, at least in anger control ;-)

Made some progress on it years ago, back when I rented it for the PS 1. I know it's really bad. (But bought it anyway...)

Yep. Funnily enough he's one of the "actors" in Roundabout ;)
But seriously...he's not the only talented video game composer. I'd also say that Ben Prunty is pretty good - who made the FTL soundtrack...

I have the CD version and played it with mouse and keyboard. If you're in for some extra masochistic experience try that :-P
Crow:

MoO 3 is pretty bad, but it's also boring, so nothing for you...

Hmm... The MegaRace games are actually really bad games - but the presentation is actually cool. Might be worth a try.

The UFO games (Alfterlight...) - I have a friend who played through all of those and says 1 is bad, 2 is decent, 3 is bad. The bad parts are because they are unfair - you actually have to know what happens next in the story to be able to win. So either play game after game you lose to "learn" how you should make decisions, or consult a walkthrough. Reminded me a little of Long Live the Queen, but the latter is a rather short game where dying and trying again "more informed" is part of the concept (that still got the game some flak for being unfair). But UFO are long games, starting over again and again will probably take a lot of time.

And another one: Jack Orlando.

That game starts out good, has amazing music and becomes a pixel-hunting fest (find a metallic paperclip on a grey roof - it makes no sense it's even there, you don't know that you need it, there's no hint where you should look (several screen to explore...). Puzzles become illogical and the story is also a let-down in the end (IMO). But the music is really good.
