ddickinson: My reference to Galileo was not about the world being flat, but about him being imprisoned for saying the Earth was not the centre of the universe. I have read quite a lot of articles more recently on different fields that seem so close minded. I guess they are written by the more arrogant part of the field, the ones who like to think they are superior and so admitting to other possibilities would damage their ego.
I see...and i wasn't impying that. But a lot of people still believe that.

Well i guess that's a problem within sciences - many disciplines believe that they're producing the ultimate truth. That's why i appreciate studying geography (and also having a transdisciplinary seminar this semester) which always incorporates several sciences and therefore cannor afford to be close minded.

It's the teleportation cabin. Roughly inspired by the one from the Simpsons, but I forgot what it looked like and had to build it from (poor) memory :-p
So glad you are an 8 now!! :-D
**Super happy crushing return hug** \o/

Even that awful American chocolate? :-)

I read in the news some time ago that they caught a smuggler near New York carrying over $3 million dollars of a prohibited product, which was actually Cadbury chocolate they were trying to get in from the UK. Something about one of your companies making Cadbury illegal as too many people preferred it over the US chocolate and so to stop Cadbury they pressured your government to make Cadbury illegal in the US.

It's not American. It's from Belgium :-)

Yes... I'm not exactly sure how it works, but Hershey is allowed to alter the recipe for Cadbury chocolate in the US, and ban imports of it from the UK. It really pissed off a lot of hardcore chocolate lovers, and some people apparently try to smuggle it into the country ô__ô
I don't know why chocolate is so much less chocolaty here. I used to like American chocolate, until I tried this Côte d'Or, and now I can't go back :-p

But is it real Belgium chocolate, or a cheap US ripoff? :-)

It is strange how they (Hershey) were allowed to do that. When I first read the story it sounded like a drug find, but then it revealed it was chocolate. And I mean no offence, but the US adds so much rubbish and chemicals to your food, often to make it cheaper to produce, that a lot of your food tastes horrible, like your bread, for example. Someone told me that famers markets and home made stuff is becoming a lot more popular in the US now due to this.

You'll have to ask my supervisor. I got it from her :-) The box is entirely in French. I can only understand a few words e__e

I can always taste a disturbing difference between food bought from a megastore, and food bought from a local store that works directly with local farms. Most of the time, food from megastores like Walmart simply have little or no taste at all to me, but with some products, like milk, I can actually taste the weird chemicals they put in it ):-\
