innocuous77: Yet? The hammer is how I got into this mess in the first place:) (ok, that, and the fact that laptops don't bounce)

The dead thing is an Asus ROG 75VW. There are 2 HD slots - one was taken up by a conventional HD (SATA), which I've taken out and plugged into another computer. The other slot is what I think is the SSD, where my data lives. I'll try to attach a pic.

Close... but replace the larger HD with 2 256GB chips that look like memory chips. I swear they're that small. (still trying to upload a pic)

Good Morning All...

Inny are you another Crow??
Don't you septic tanks ever sleep??:-)

adaliabooks: No problem, it must be a pain.
Are you having any other problems anywhere else? (other sites)
I tried logging in and out twice in a different window and could only recreate the account link bug..
I presume you have tried a direct link to you account or messages? What happens then?

HypersomniacLive: No issues whatsoever anywhere else.

Enebias just came forward reporting the same issues.

I'm not sure I follow you on your suggestions? What do you mean by "direct link"?
I mean just visiting https://www.gog.com/account/messages to view your messages. Although as you said you got some of the PMs (or at least could see they had been sent) that would suggest you had managed to get to the messages page...

Good morning. =)

Hell, I actually did sleep last night for once.
After dozing off half a dozen times at my desk, I finally made it to somewhere built for sleeping.

How's your day going?

That's the nicest thing anyone ever said to me:)

I'm not Crow, but we're in different time zones, so we can pretty much tag team this thread when we want:P

A 256gig ssd is one of the options on that model. I'm looking for a pic now.

adaliabooks: Something like this then?

Either way, it seems to be a miniature SSD, but whether that's any help in getting the data off it is another problem...
YES! the one on the bottom (that sounded cheeky).

The second link discuss how some of them can be connected to a laptops PCI slot but the ones on that look like their just soldered straight to the board and have no connectors.. which seems like it would make it difficult for you to do anything yourself, but if you took it to some kind of specialist they might be able to remove them and mount them in some way that you could connect them to your computer...

Yep, must be one of these. If it's in a SATA slot it will have a PCI to SATA adapter built in. Can't believe they wouldn't make it removable though.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I can access the pages via the Account button, the problem is that I can't interact with anything on each of them:
- Clicking on games on my shelf or in my list does nth; this also means that I can't switch from shelf to list and vice versa view. Also the game counter is caught in an endless spinning loop.
- I can't switch between users in my PM box to read or reply to their messages, clicking on their names does nth, and have no "send now" button under the field to compose a new message.
- Clicking on my gift codes also does nth.

Only the wishlist seems to work since a couple of hours earlier.

It's like scripts are disabled on those pages (obviously they're not, otherwise I wouldn't be able to log in and access them), but it's because the system doesn't fully acknowledge that I'm indeed logged in as user HypersomniacLive and have the right to access the content of my account pages.

I've started a dedicated thread to see how many others have this problem.

Do you have anyone else you trust enough to have them try to log into your account from a different machine?
You could even temporarily change your password.
You could use email to communicate with them, or a phone call and see how they do.

Send a pic if you can, looks to me like the msata drive AND the adapter remove as one unit in the few pics I was able to find.
Mighty fine laptop, shame about the crash. :/
