That certainly took away any dilemmas i had about getting Personal Nightmare from the weekend promo - I have absolutely no desire to reward GOG for the issues I'm facing with the site and my account.

To expand on your computer question: IF what you are referring to is a Solid State disk Drive then yes, there may be data there. You would need to remove the drive, mount it in another machine and copy the data from it.
To be honest if your not familiar with computers you be better off finding someone to help you with it. I'll bet any number of your students could do it for you, unless the data is sensitive. Then I would go to a good computer service place.

Edit: From your last post it sounds like you are computer savvy. Just mount it in a desktop machine with SATA and copy the data, you will need an adapter to match the desktop SATA connector. OR you could buy an external SATA to USB case and then you have your data and be able to use the drive as extra storage too.

Ironically, checkout seems to work again, at least on Pale Moon, but on he one hand I'm too po'd and on the other hand I absolutely don't trust GOG to enter my personal details.

I have no idea what the problem could be, especially as it seems to be some what localised (you seem to be the only one suffering so badly from the errors). I haven't even got the sign up / log in bug...

But as I'm not likely to need any of the functions you are lacking (I have no money to buy new games and the games I already have are already downloaded) I might have a play around and see if I can cause it..

innocuous77: I've tried that... the ssd (at least that;s what I think it is) is sitting on an itty bitty motherboard gently connected to the main motherboard. I can't unscrew it, I can't gently lift it off, and it holds the SATA connection for the drive I can lift off and out into another computer. 6 weeks of work is on that damn drive (and I hate myself for not Dropboxing that shit).

I've tried using an external monitor, I've tried a damn serial cable. I've tried channeling cats (one was on my lap while I was writing)...

Argh!
