innocuous77: Outside of me looking like a fool? Yes, I love college b-ball. (Carolina girl, here).

Now that I look like an idiot? Still wrestling with a chip with 6 weeks worth of work on it...

Crow needs to choose better, smarter friends:)
You're both better and smarter than me, so that statement is hilarious. =)

adaliabooks: That sucks. Would you like me to PM Firek or another of the blues on your behalf?

I have no idea what the problem could be, especially as it seems to be some what localised (you seem to be the only one suffering so badly from the errors). I haven't even got the sign up / log in bug...

But as I'm not likely to need any of the functions you are lacking (I have no money to buy new games and the games I already have are already downloaded) I might have a play around and see if I can cause it..
avatar
HypersomniacLive: I'm actually not the only one that can't download their games - if you read my EDIT3 in the post I linked to, you'll see that at least two other people are having the same problem (links to their posts included).

It would be great if you could PM Firek on my behalf; please link him to this post of mine, and tell him that my open support ticket regarding this mess is #IOUDAZXA.

Also, could someone send me a PM to test if receiving messages work?
Ah, missed that about others suffering too. Still, it doesn't seem to effect everyone... A little playing around in an incognito window shows the account thing to probably just be a variable not being set (as I'm sure I saw noted somewhere, going to the front page seemed to sort that out). But I clicked through to quite a few areas of the site and noting else seemed to be broken...
I would guess why I haven't suffered the account bug is because I don't log out (and therefore don't log in, which is presumably where the issue lies...)

Anyway, I'll send Firek a PM for you. And even though Endre seems to have done it I'll send you a test PM to see if that goes through.

Edit: PM sent to Firek, but it says he is offline so he may not get it for a while :(

I'll get brave and logout and see what happens.
If you never hear from me again, well.......
Don't party too hard. :-)

Edit: Logged out, cleared cache and cookies, closed browser (Chrome), opened browser and logged back in. No issues that I can see.

The irony is that the first advice that I was given by GOG support is to log out, clear my cache, and log back in, when it looks like every time one logs out/ in something further breaks.

The front page trick does not work for me:

- I can't log in from anywhere else other than the front page, and even there I have to log in twice before the bloody system acknowledges that I'm actually logged in.
- I cant' get notifications refresh from anywhere else than the front page or at least a revamped non-secure page.
- No matter how many times I try the front page trick, I still can't interact with my account pages.

As for the PMs - I got one PM from yogsloth, one from Endre and one from AgentBirdnest, in that order. I can only read the one from AgentBirdnest, but can't access the other two, nor can I reply to AgentBirdnest's one.

So, PMs are coming in, but I have no way to do anything about/ with them, but read the most recent one.

Cheers for helping out, adaliabooks and everyone else.
Good morning/afternoon/evening, everyone.

Hoping that your day's going well and that your weekend is decent at the very least. =)

innocuous77: I've tried that... the ssd (at least that;s what I think it is) is sitting on an itty bitty motherboard gently connected to the main motherboard. I can't unscrew it, I can't gently lift it off, and it holds the SATA connection for the drive I can lift off and out into another computer. 6 weeks of work is on that damn drive (and I hate myself for not Dropboxing that shit).

I've tried using an external monitor, I've tried a damn serial cable. I've tried channeling cats (one was on my lap while I was writing)...

Argh!

EndreWhiteMane: Her's a pic with an SSD on the left and a conventional HDD on the right. Which do you have?
Give me the model and brand of the laptop, that will help a LOT. ;)
Neither... its a little board with 2 chips. The chips are the size of memory chips (and no, they're not RAM chips). The board they ride on fits into the place where a 2nd SATA drive would sit, and holds the connector for the SATA drive.

I know I'm screwed here, but I thought I'd ask:)

Don't get out the hammer yet, send me the make and model of the lappie.
Edit: What's in the 1st SATA position?

Howdy Mr. Crow! Back from work and drinking coffee, good day so far. How about you?

Hyper, I've tried everything I can think of to break the site and can't. An issue or two with the Barefoot Monkey script but that's normal for me.

No problem, it must be a pain.
Are you having any other problems anywhere else? (other sites)
I tried logging in and out twice in a different window and could only recreate the account link bug..
I presume you have tried a direct link to you account or messages? What happens then?

Can't complain here, having a pretty great morning, actually.
Managed to get some sleep after a couple days, now drinking coffee and there's a pot full in the other room, so I don't have to hoist 40 pound water bottles to make more at the moment. Always a plus.

How are you feeling overall with the med crap today?

Actually feel better today than I have in some time, work was completely fubar today but I pulled it off without a hitch. I think the fact that it's sunny and warm today helped a lot. The meds didn't seem to give me much trouble at all. :-)

Yet? The hammer is how I got into this mess in the first place:) (ok, that, and the fact that laptops don't bounce)

The dead thing is an Asus ROG 75VW. There are 2 HD slots - one was taken up by a conventional HD (SATA), which I've taken out and plugged into another computer. The other slot is what I think is the SSD, where my data lives. I'll try to attach a pic.

No issues whatsoever anywhere else.

Enebias just came forward reporting the same issues.

I'm not sure I follow you on your suggestions? What do you mean by "direct link"?
