Getting this same message in GOG Galaxy when trying to launch on a Mac with Ventura 13.0.1.

Kinda annoying I installed the latest version of the software, restarted several times... Nothing has worked.

*update* Solved with information provided by DRAGANGAIC in another thread.

骑着世界的骏马: I changed my computer.
I've reloaded the game many times, but every time I have this tip:
Connection to GOG Galaxy Communication Service was lost and could not be restored! GOG Galaxy will now shutdown.
All solutions let me delete files.I don't have this file in my folder:“C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\redists\GalaxyC ommunicationService.ini”
Please help me.
Hurry up, dudes, hurry up. I'm losing wood.
One solution I've got from all previous answer is to create a shell script to open the communication component before launching gog :

/Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/redists/GalaxyCommunication >/dev/null 2>&1 & open /Applications/GOG\ Galaxy.app/

and executing it to launch gog

Thank you! This works. :-)

This is one annoying bug...
I just downloaded this App and I get this error?

Why have the app available to download? The level of incompetence is astounding.

I have the same error on Windows 11.
Fresh Gog install.

The Windows service GalaxyCommunication is not starting (immediately fails) and I see no error in the event logs.
Tried to reinstall VC++, no change.
Uninstall + clean all Gog folders + reinstall, no change.

Seriously ?

Edit :
I saw the messages about RDP after my 1st post. Retried directly without RDP, GOG is not closing anymore, the Communication service still won't start though. But at least I can use GOG and hopefully play :)

This problem I only noticed after reinstalling Win11. At the time, for speed of download/install of my games from both GOG and Steam, I disabled my VPN. Then only after renabling it, the problem occurs (Steam was fine). So I've included the attached four programs to bypass my vpn (I've done it with a game that doesn't like VPNs either).

The files can be found here:

C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\redists
C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy
Attachments:
My windows 10 and 11 are fine. the issue is on my MacBooks. macOS 13 and macOS 14

Exactly the same as above. Windows 11 machine can run Galaxy fine. OS X 13.5.2 I get the Communication Service was lost error message.
This issue was first reported in 2017. It's now 2023 and still happening.

6 years... Come on...

Same issue here Windows 10.
Guys, i had t his error pop-up from time to time (not every time) when i was using the program, and everytime, to get rid of the error i had to start the program like 5-10 times until the error would not pop away.

WHAT I DID FIND INTERESTING is....

If you go to account management (fast before the error pop-up) and click "login and security tab" GALAXY Will actually tell you that your client is OUTDATED.

so what i did was download the galaxy setup.exe from gog site, INSTALL IT and voila !

ALL GOOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!
