Ther seriously is no letting up on the stream of remasters is there. The original was an ok game back in the day, not sure how your going to sell this though. There are thousands of decent platformers across all platforms for free which surpass this.

Definitely had to do a double take on that one.

Not that I'm complaining mind you.
I assume this is a "you had to be there" kind of game.
Game of my childhood :) Doesn't appear much work was put into upgrading the graphics, could have been much prettier for a "HD" version.
Well.
It's a choice. Not one I'm excited for, but hey.
If it's 12 bucks, I guess that'd be aight.

Pretty much. Which is a weird thing; given this is sort of game, compared to KROZ or earlier titles to Crystal Caves.

Hmmm. The original was a formative game for me... but my fondness for it is mostly nostalgia. This strips away the nostalgia leaving a game that wasn't amazing even for its day.

EDIT: Wait what? I'm not even seeing any HD. It has more colours on screen, perhaps it would be more appropriate to call this Crystal Caves VGA?

Lodium: I fail to see what has been remastered

Cadaver747: You're right, you fail to see it.
The screenshots

and
hd_3.jpg
don't show an increase in resolution, only colours. HD does not refer to colours, so I'm wondering what you're seeing that we're not.

nightcraw1er.488: Tell me about it, next up Pong HD with upscaled 4K bats!
Though I l giggled. Pong HD was a thing. It is called Pong the next level.

I have the original game so why I;m somewhat interested in this for the new episode I'm more interested in the hope this leads to s Commander Keen HD collection (Steam has or had the Commander Keen games available so why doesn't GOG?

Negativity. To answer your other question: the game has 16:10 ratio to preserve original 4:3 and and it scales to screen resolution. So you have your HD all over the place. Have fun.

That was ages ago, as we see with Myst one remaster is not enough, try 5!
Something I forgot to mention earlier. GOG has games covering the adventures of Commander Keen's Grandfather and Grandson or Great-Grandson so again why don't they have Commander Keen's games?

I'm not complaining that it's not HD, other than that the title is inaccurate.

The fact the game can scale its output does not make the game HD. HD art would make the game HD.
Personally I'm glad the game is low resolution, I'm just disputing the inaccurate title.

If we are to use your definition of HD, all DOS games can already be played in HD using DOSbox.

Again... Kindly please do not do this.

The original game resolution is 1280x800. So it's a bit more than HD (since HD is 1280x720) and your example of DOSBox scaling has nothing to do with that. At least check the GOG store page when you have time.
