mqstout: UGH. Hand-crafted games, please!
Then you have to hope for Tactical Breach Wizards. There are many complaints that it isn't (the demo) and will not be (the final game) randomly generated.

"Battle Morden’s Army in 110 hand-crafted maps and 20 different mission types"
No procedural generation in scenarios, it seems. Probably missions or objectives are randomly assigned or enemy placement is random, but there seems to be enough hand-crafting in this title

But still: Experience a huge replayability with its die-and-retry roguelite progression

AKA, "we couldn't be assed to try to sculpt a good progression curve".

Breja: I was about to leave a positive comment. I swear to Valen I was.

But of course (say it with me, folks)... it's a roguelike! YAAAAY!

What are you doing? Only positive comments, you fool! I am already lost, my name is a curse, but it might not be too late for you! Save yourself!
Looks awesome! Wishlisted for now.

You obviously misunderstand. Reasonable and thoughtful criticism is fine, but constant mindless whining about (usually questionable) personal preferences in EVERY topic is not.

Roguelite does not need to mean procedural generation, which means everything is handcrafted. but since it is "lite" it is probalby more about things like perma-death, the upgrade system and so on. There is nothing in that which says there is not a good progression curve. You are reacting to a (very) vague and meanigless world without knowing anything about how it is implemented here.

And just to be clear - "Roguelite" is a meaingless buzzword, I wish people would stop using it, and be more precise.

Other Metal Slug games are arcade shooters with die-and-retry (and insert coin) progression. So I'd say that, more than a roguelite element, it's coherence with the franchise mechanics ;)
Interesting game, but the requirement of 8GB of RAM makes me wonder if it is properly optimized for what I see on screens. It would be nice to test a demo on GoG and not rent it on the Vapor store, to see it disappear in a puff of smoke in less than a day from now.

... well "that guy"... have you tried directly asking the development/design team of the original game in the series to get a definitive answer instead of posting speculative leading questions on a game retailer forum?...

I assume that's just "requirements to run Windows 10", especially since it's impossible to buy a computer with less RAM these days. Although that doesn't explain the 12GB recommended requirements, which seems especially egregious given that it actually only uses 1.4GB when running in Wine, for what that's worth. Usually demos on Steam have no DRM so you can play them for as long as you want even if they're removed from the store, but not in this case. Or at least it forces Steam to start before the game will.

Anyway, seems nicely polished and has some interesting mechanics from what I played (not very long). However I was always kinda meh on the Metal Slug arcade games and have no particular fondness for that world, and since I have several other unplayed tactics games in my backlog, I'll pass. It does capture the Metal Slug vibe in tactics form, so if you're into that my impression is that it's a decent game.
On the wishlist it goes :-)

How do you rent a free demo? Do you know what the word "rent" mean?

This is the silliest thing I have read this week, and I have been following the elections in both US and UK.

It'd be nice if the Demo was here yes but. I'm pretty sure the game doesn't have any DRM except maybe Steamworks. You can just download on Steam and easily make your own "offline" Installer if it's really important to you.
