I really don't want to be "that guy" but ...

Is there a story-based explanation why the "heroes" fight with tanks (!) against sword-wielding arab/ beduin stereotyped enemies (first screenshot) and with laser guns (!) against mask-wearing indigenous people (second screenshot)?

Racism, would be the easy answer.

The more nuanced and complicated answer... we actually have to go back in time quite many years, back when Adam still hadn't given the apple to Eve or was it the other way around, and climb our way up from there to the current Israel-Palestinian conflict and the rights of the non-binary Sami people.

So, it is quite complicated.

As for the game itself. the trailer does look neat, and I adore the Metal Slug arcade games. Wishlisted and notify me'ed.
