Lone_Scout: (...) Other Metal Slug games are arcade shooters with die-and-retry (and insert coin) progression. So I'd say that, more than a roguelite element, it's coherence with the franchise mechanics ;)

Becuase SNK is not the publisher. It is published by DotEmu and Gamera Games

I'm a casual fan of Metal Slug and like my share of turn-based tactical games. I'm wary of roguelikes though, but I made exceptions if there is something about the game loop that grabs my attention.
