I would go and discover places. Maybe settle down in a far place where not too many walkers go.
Extreme situation requires extreme measures, so I will probably eat a dog, not my dog (I'm not a monster) but probably someone else's dog...

I would get books from Chelsea Green and grow my own herbs.
I would raid a sporting goods shop with guns and then head to an island
Such a fun topic to talk about...

Lately I have been thinking that what could we really do in such kind of situation? We are constanly facing bacteria, virus, fungi among other microorganisms (even proteins that turn into prions), that could lead to a potential "zombie apocalypse".

The most basic thing to do on TWD world would be surviving. This is where canned food, or non perecible ones are the most useful to have at hand. Perhaps, eventually everything can get out of control... so the most probable thing to do is taken advantage from nature's resilience behavior, which would allow us to gather seeds/stems for harvesting, due to a more fructiferous spread of plants (the reduction of human activity will definitely impact on nature), so our primary source of proteins must be seeds and insects(yes, they are rich on them), unfortunatelly as cellulose is not digested by our digestive tract, some vegetables are not going to provide us high doses of glucose as our main energy source, so we got to harvest tubers, cereals that help us dealing with that. Of course there's no other way than facing the living-dead ones, so better be careful out there. Weapons could be easily made by anything in our surroundings so no rocket science involved on that.

Building a bunker or a fortress must be a priority too, a place in which you at least should be able to sleep without the steady paranoia feeling of being suddenly attacked. At the end of the day, the "new normal life" is going to be a hell of a ride..., but in fact, this won't be the first time we face a sharp stone in our paths...

We got to keep moving. So survive, keep moving and hold on to your beloved ones.
I would create a Vegan isolated village some place.
The most important thing is to find a safe place and secure it. Then start searching for food and other people in order to create a community.
I would head to an island.
Play games until the power go off, sleep tight, eat well, exercise, go to work (I'm a lecturer), and try to befriend a majority group of walking dead people -- respect them to stop drama and hate crime.
In extreme situations, the most obvious action will be to secure basic elements of survival i.e. food, shelter, water, fire, electricity and vehicles. Ofcourse its not going to be that easy to secure them all or maybe even one of them since the situation is not going to play out in your favor. At the start food, water and shelter should be given priority. Canned and preserved food may be the best choice at that moment. Securing vehicles and power should be given preference then.
Searching for survivors and building a community will play a vital part in one's survival. Once the food and other basic necessities that one may have stored at their homes are gone, the only option would be to make them yourselves and there's only one way to do that and that's by doing it together as a community. As a community everyone realizes that the more there are of them the lesser the walkers will be. People of all skills will be required to keep the community together and fulfill each other's needs. The future generation will need all the guidance and knowledge accumulated by their elders to keep humanity alive. Helping each other out and trying each and everyday for a cure and keeping yourself alive will be the greatest challenge.
There will be all sorts of situations and challenges that one might have read in books, or seen in movies or in games but the most important thing about survival is not keeping yourself alive, instead it is to not lose your humanity.
Thanks for the contest.

I´d act as one of them, dress with raided clothes, cover my face with talcum and repeat: brainsss!!!
What would I do to survive?

If you're talking about fighting the undead hordes, that's easy enough. Everyone in the walking dead gets fighting zombies wrong. All this fighting with baseball bats, knives, and what have you. Get something with some heft, like a bowling ball, tie it to a rope and then climb up somewhere. Anywhere you are at least 10 feet off the ground and with a couple of days food supply just in case it takes longer than you anticipated. Make some noise to draw them in. Then drop the bowling ball on their head like you are Bugs Bunny screwing with the opera singer. Pull it up with the rope, rinse and repeat.

If you're talking about what moral lines I will cross. I think I would revert back to the age-old code "might makes right". That is until I run into someone stronger than I am, in which case I will immediately recant. So two days tops.

I would pretend to be one of them in hopes that they didn't notice me.
I would settle down somewhere inbetween lots of water, like on an unoccupied island or in a house that I'd find or build in the middle of a lagoon or a pond. That would slow down everything and everyone that could try to harm me; it'd make it so that zombies would almost never horde my place and most humans wouldn't mess with me (or us) because the loot likely wouldn't be worth the risk for them.

Hiding away would be not my thing, I have always fancied being a walking dead.
I would probably take a bite out of my boss, sometimes I think maybe bite the wife too as she is a bit bossy. A zombies life is a life for me!
