Thank you for finally implementing these changes! They are more than welcome.

Please also implement a mail confirmation when someone tries to change an e-mail adress in the account settings. There have been many complains about stolen accounts lately and this would be a very easy way to prevent this kind of stuff.

Oh, and is there any reason why I still can't gift The Witcher 3?

Thanks for the update. Though once again I would like to introduce the heretical notion that such things could be communicated before the fact rather than long after. If you had announced the temporary gifting locks at the same time you implemented them, instead of leaving it us to find them, things would have gone much better.

Ugh. That's... that's so mellifluous and unsincere and well worded. I haven't read such a textbook example of PR speech in a long time. Totally disgusting.

Gog, you need to hire this man, now!

HypersomniacLive: Question to those that have tried the "Block User" feature without using the "Clear Conversation" - if one unblocks said user, does the conversation history re-appear in their chat?
The conversation does not disappear when you block users it is still there. So no need for it to be re-appearing.
*puts hazard tape across thread just to be sure
Blocking spree celebration!!!

Well said.

Thanks for the updates, look forward to more tweaks and more communication in the future.
The hide user feature have disappeared for me. Maybe that was only temporary but why? It was very nice, you didn't have to downvote people to hide their posts if you didn't want to see their posts (this is only aimed at blues). Even better would be to add one that automatically hides posts that has certain keywords rather than user specific.

That sounds more like you had been using Barefoot Essentials. ;)

That might be it. I've used it for quite a while but the other features work so it's weird if one just disappeared.

stg83: So it took you guys another two weeks or so to bring back Clear and Block features from the old PM system. Was it asking too much of you to say something to us regarding the delay when we were inquiring about it in the thread where the initial announcement was made?

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/update_blocking_users_and_deleting_messages_on_chat/post120

Better late then never so good to see these features implemented but once again your absolute failure to communicate on your own accord left most people less then optimistic of seeing the return of these much needed features. I hope you guys finally start learning from your errors and be more transparent regarding these issues in the future to alleviate our concerns.

I also sincerely hope the anti-fraud measures that you have introduced prove to be effective because a few bad apples should not be able to dictate the purchasing ability of all the legitimate customers here. Also hoping that the temporary gifting restrictions having been lifted now continue to stay that way due to this measure as it was a major concern for a lot of your customers here.

Tallima: Here's an example of how communication with a company like GOG, who has many passionate supporters, should have went:

Dear GOG Community,

GOG has been the target of many fraudulent credit card transactions. As an immediate stopgap, we have halted gifting from the most heavily-stolen games. They are listed here.

We know that you guys love to gift games to your friends and hold cheerful giveaways that really give this site a friendly atmosphere, so we are working diligently on a fraud protection scheme. We'll be discussing the most robust, but also non-intrusive, ways of combatting this. Once we have decided what we'll be doing about it, we'll get to work on implementing it.

We hope we can get something in place in the next 6-12 weeks. Please bear with us while we make the site safer for you.

As a reminder: Nobody sells GOG keys. If you purchase a GOG key from another distributor, you may or may not lose that game if it was purchased with a stolen credit card. Unfortunately, we do not have a system in place to alert you if your game is stolen nor is it priority to make that system at this time. We will be focusing on stopping the fraud, not alerting those who have purchased fraudulently purchased games.

As always, it's an honor to have such devoted and kind customers such as yourself.

Sincerely,
Your Friendly Neighborhood GOG Team
This and this. Still, thanks for the update and I'm thrilled to see progress.
