NieR Replicant™ ver.1.22474487139... because why not
Just five words: The music of Grim Fandango.
Have to do a top 3, can't pick one:

1) HOMM3's soundtrack and sound design are so deeply ingrained in my brain that whenever I hear a sample or snippet of any of the audio in any other medium like a commercial, a TV show, etc. I know instantly that it's from HOMM.

2) Diablo 2 + LOD's soundtrack is simply iconic and really sets the tone for the environment of the game. From minimal, atmospheric creeps to grand orchestral sweeps, D2's soundtracks does it all to perfection.

3) GTA Vice City - while the other two are original orchestral works, there's something to be said about the selection and curation of the Vice City soundtrack. An excellent snapshot of the era the game takes place, and really lays down the vibe while you're up to no good.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Dragonborn by Jeremy Soule

One cannot simply feel as rewarded as when playing as a protagonist in a medieval phantasy like world, then you hear soundtracks played on the background when advancing on the main quest, slaying dragons, Stormcloaks/Imperial soldiers... Dragonborn is one of few, but the only one with unforgettable title.
That's a very hard question. For me, the winner would be Command & Conquer Generals.

Runners up would be Heroes M&M IV, Rise of Nations and Endless Legend. Bastion and Transistor are also worth mentioning.
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and 4 have great soundtracks. But the best soundtrack of a game, for me... Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Whitch. It's incredible!!! It was wrote by Joe Hisaisi. The author of most of Studio Ghibli films soundtracks. Nobody should miss that art work.

I liked very much soundtrack from GTA: Vice City, also Need for Speed:Underground 2 had great soundtrack but I ThinkPad my favorite was soundtrack from Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2, it was very suited to climate of this game, often gaving you chills and making you just wanna spend long hours playing this game :)

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is most probable my choice. Why? Good collection using of different kind instruments and suitable tracks where ever your adventure goes. That way is easy getting good mood to action and horror themed platforming. =)

Good options would be: Lords of Thunder, Thunderforce 3-4, Final Fantasy 4-7, Last Ninja 2 and many more...

Hey! I do like also HOMM3 soundtrack a lot, because it is best fantasy turn-based strategy game ever! =)
My all time favorite is the HoMM III soundtrack, it served me countless times as the background music for going to sleep in the past 20 years...along with the HoMM IV soundtrack which is a welcome change in style compared to the third installations flavor...equally magnificent, never getting old...I simply adore them. Thanks a million, Mr. King, Mr. Romero and Mr. Baca...you've made an all time classic.
HoMM II-s OST is also one of my favorite.

My other beloved ones:

- Planescape: Torment by Mark Morgan
- Dungeon Siege by Jeremy Soule
- Dune 2000 by Frank Klepacki
- Little Big Adventure (1-2) by Philippe Vachey
- Gothic 3 by Kai Rosenkrantz
- Risen 2 by Tilman Sillescu
- Unreal Tournament by Michiel van den Bos
- Pinball Fantasies by Olof Gustafsson
- The Longest Journey tracks by Tor Linløkken

Many thanks to all of you, for without you the world would've been a bit less beautiful.

The intro theme of Morrowind.

When it first appeared I read an incredible review of the game in a magazine and I was simply amazed. Sadly, I didn't have any means to get it at that time, but few years later I put my hands on it, start and I ended up hypnotized. That's something I won't forget any time soon.

I remember that my PC couldn't even render the videos and had to use a frame rate optimizer to see where Fargoth hid that ring in less than 10 FPS. Those were the golden days where guides/walkthroughts weren't accessible to everyone.
Its Final Fantasy VIII or X for me, cannot decide. Nobuo Uematsu is an absolute master at evoking emotions and the music always fits the scenes. I still tear up when I hear Suteki da ne, To Zanarkand or Eyes on Me, and its been 15 years since i've played either of those games.
Heroes of Might and Magic II

We first met sometime back in the late '90s when I was around 10, and this game has remained my all time favorite ever since. It was the reason I've joined GOG. I still play this game from time to time and let myself immerse in its atmosphere, which is largely built by the wonderful compositions of maestro Paul Anthony Romero. I also enjoy his other works on the HoMM series, and the Heroes Orchestra was a delightful discovery for me as well. Heroes music just emits an exceptional calmness that no other video game soundtrack can.

Donkey Kong Country 2 OST by David Wise, an amazingly diverse and immersive soundtrack that made great use of the SNES sound chip.
The most memorable soundtrack to me is the one from Fallout: New Vegas.

When I was in high school, I would play video games to escape from the real world. I started playing FNV during that period. Soon after, I got sick, so I stayed home for a couple of days and played the game whenever I could. After 2 days I was probably well enough to go to school again. But even though my cough was gone, I was still feeling miserable, so I stayed home another day.

This was when I really got into the game. I often listened to the songs on the in-game radio. I liked them, and since many of them were from around the 50's, they had this warm and fuzzy sound to them, which was comforting to me. I ended up staying home for a full week playing the game.

Now whenever I hear that music, I remember that week, and that I was feeling miserable because of school, not because I was sick. Ain't that a kick in the head...
Difficult question to answer, but in the end I have to choose Grim Fandango.

An original score by Peter McConnell, that soothes of the universe where it takes place.
Both ironic and melancholy it just sums up poor Mannys four years in the Land of the Dead.
Makes me cry, laugh and live Manuel Calavera's experience to the fullest.
The short, poignant yet incredibly affective songs even formed my music taste further on in life, and I guess that's why in the end I have to give it to the soundtrack to Grim Fandango!
