Bioware died when Black Isle disappeared. All the crap from Dragon Age: Origins on has nothing to do with Bioware. It's just EA cash grabs.

Black Isle was Interplay, not BioWare. BioWare died when EA bought them, so your point is partially correct.

The doctors stayed on briefly, and then "retired" as soon as was feasibly possible without scaring the stock market. This was as predictable as a Blizzard employee threatening to buy guns because Trump won the election.

As for the whole woke vs non woke, the definition of woke has been twisted and abused, by both the left and right, and no longer represents what it actually means.

To be woke is to be aware of society's issues and the misfortunes of those who are different and less blessed than you. From someone getting a life sentence for having a quarter of marijuana, to a mentally ill dude getting shot to death in Arizona because he was schizophrenic and the cops didn't have the patience to deal with him, being aware of these issues is what makes you woke.

DEI and ESG are not woke. They are tools used by the liberal progressives who are trying to foster a civil war in all the major civilized countries, through targeted ideology differences and the age old method of "pitting and splitting".

Over representation in a video game is also not woke. It is a money grab for lower interest business loans, and chasing after the elusive "Modern audience" that the publishers and developers keep thinking is going to buy copious amounts of games, when in fact the "Modern audience" typically looks down on gamers and gaming.

Check boxes and fake diversity are also not woke. They are tools and metrics used by studios, both in gaming and in Hollywood, to get lower interest business loans and things like Emmy's and Oscar's. They are only tools. They don't care about social issues.

Being woke is knowing a large portion of North Carolinians and Californians are still waiting for FEMA payouts.

As I always say on this occasion, Bioware was gutted in 2007 really, when the owners sold it to EA. Ever since it exists in name only, and since that name keeps getting blemished, its of less and less help.

EAs (and some compareable big companys) obvious problem is that they lose the good developers, and find no matching replacements either. And it turns out that underpaid, overworked worker drones that work for these companies arent that great at creating games.

There could be a lot said about the woke movement and peoples ignorance about it, and a politically interested person like myself feels the strong urge to create walls of text about the many wrong claims in this thread. But frankly only Dragon Age: Veilguard was actually woke. Mass Effect Andromeda was just plain bad.

It is absolutely normal that more recent titles sell more games, because China has entered the computer game market, and India is soon to follow. Those are 1.4 billion people each, with increasing income. More than the whole west combined, even if you include countries like Japan and South Korea into "the west".

This doesn't have to be politicized, guys. Anything can be as left-wing or right-wing to the max and still sell well if it's a good product.

BioWare were releasing poor quality games after another that failed in the [mass] market they were gunning for. Another example of the Ship of Thesus where replacing original teams and/or key people over the years won't make it the same ship.

That is exactly what the woke movement tries to keep you ignorant about.

The woke movement does NOT want you to discuss poverty, war, the increasing divide of wealth between regular people and the rich, or really any other actual problem people have.

It wants to exclusively make people talk and fight about identity.

I would not call it necessary poor quality all in all. Just not what the masses wanted. It seems Bioware evolved into 'an aquired taste' which is actually not weird if you check out their portfolio and compare that against the true kings, first in the PC world and later over all platforms. Most people just want to have fun with each other
