Hello,

Just want to know what sort of person you are. Do you get games and play every tiny bit of it with a high number of hours per game or do you take joy in collecting games that you don't necessarily not play but enjoy owning along with goodies. I suppose it's difficult to ask this in regards to games you 'subscribe' to :-) I consider myself to be a collector more than a gamer
Easy, collector.
I'm an idiot gamer. I love to play games but I buy way more games than I can play.
<Gamer. I will spend a week in a Arma simulation and grind SMT Nocturne to level 100. Actually it was level 105.

I also enjoy collecting them, I would like to put my boxed copy of manhunt on a little pedestal with a nice spot light shining down apon it, like some epic piece of horrifying art. Also want to frame my limited edition Metal Gear Solid 4 lithograph.

I tried to be a gamer. Then my backlog grew to such Brobdingnagian proportions it developed self-awareness and is trying to take over the world.

It's not working out so hot.

Haha, I'm exactly the same. :-)
A gamer. I can't see the point of just "collecting" games, seems like a waste of money. (Yes, I am judging you all :D
Edit: to be clear though, I don't play every game to its max. Most of the time achievements have no draw for me, though I recently surprised myself by getting all the achievements in Bastion.

You said the same thing to me when I told you I like to dress up like a fairy and sing show tunes all while hitting myself in the head with a shovel.

"I don't see the point" you said!

Just because you can't see the genius of something doesn't make it pointless!

yeah pretty much
i just bought the humble bundle with grim fandango in it just for that game
The most I have completed a game (recently) is assassins creed rogue around 48hours. completed everything in the game, minus achievements but a 100% save game. I have rarely ever done gaming to that extent. ;-) reason was actually because uplay cloud saves that game meaning I never have to go back to it. :-P
Mostly a collector here.

I go after old (retro) consoles, games in cartridge and cassette format, and arcade pcb's. Some things are just nice to own (see image)
I have a relatively large library of pc games - but the vast majority of gaming time is spent on relatively few titles.
And i do not sink my cash into subscriptions - i buy properly licensed software ;)

I only buy games I know I will play, so I usually do some research before I buy, to make sure I won't be disappointed. Games are meant to be played, and I think hoarding games and not playing them is madness! :P I went to a game-store with a friend, half a year ago, and he bought a pretty expensive game. Well, he keeps it in a drawer.. sealed in plastic. It's tormenting me! :P
I don't buy games that I'm not interested in or I don't think I'll play. Of course, that still leads me to buying a crapton more games than I'll probably ever have time for, especially considering the fact that my preferred genre is RPG games, which tend to suck up a lot of hours (and many have good replay value, which just exacerbates the issue).
I am a gamer, but I also get games that I had as a kid, or games that I pirated as a kid. Might not play them again any time soon, but still...

I'm too broke to be a collector. I'm a gamer. I don't always get to the games right away, but then I'll have a period of binging where I take down some 10-20 within a few weeks.
