Honestly, some of the shit that's posted here lately just screams at any sane person to slap sense into the OP.

I'm not going to link to threads, because odds are that anyone who is regular here will know what I'm talking about.

Oh wait, someone will take advantage of the first line I wrote and make a clever 'comeback'... oh dear.

In any case... I'm bloody half drunk and bored. Hit me with your best shot with relevant (or non) discussion on the ongoing hilarity of tinfoil theorists and such.

On a personal note... my mate has started spouting shit about 9/11 and what not recently and it's pretty sad. I know I can't make him stop.
He also became a self-diagnosed germaphobe and schizophrenic. Tried telling me I was schizo simply because I was highly aware of my surroundings in a shopping mall.
What depresses me even more is that I've known and been good friends with this person since I was in high school. That's over 10 years, dammit!

Aaaaaand to finish off (the conversation, not myself); would anyone like to get smashed on the weekend? I'm going to some less renowned bar that has waitresses who will de-robe for small amounts of cash. I need the break, so anyone is welcome to throw suggestions at me for hilarious pics of the outing?
Peace out, sincerely,
Micky T

Just be glad that gog seems to have an open door policy for their forum. I've been a part of many a forum that wouldn't allow any discussion of religion or politics, certainly not edgy conspiracy talk.

It's a big world with lots of people in it, and all those people all have different views. We in the western world have developed a keen sense of intellectual wanderlust. And since a great many of us recognize that we are being deceived by our news and media agencies, it's only natural for people to desire a truth to fill the void of knowledge displaced by intentional lies and manipulation. Hence the rise of 'tinfoil' conspiracies.

Don't take it all so seriously. Do some research, verify, and determine for yourself what the truth is. Or just get blasted drunk and think everyone else is crazy and you're the only one with all the answers.

Said's the guy that hide he face being a strange mask, so we don't know is he is even a human (or male or female).

Edit: Hey, just joking.

That mask is a tell-tale sign of the hermaphroditic aquatic lizard people. It has enchantments that let them breathe air.

As long as you're not suggesting I'm fitting with your last sentence to the tee, then I'm okay with what you've said :)

But then again, you seem to find the smallest shred of ammo for condescension in any topic lately. I don't have a problem with anything you say, and I never will.
The absolute best tinfoil theory is the "Mandela Effect". Look it up if you don't already know it. You won't be disappointed! :D

Was just my long winded way of saying TRUST BUT VERIFY.

Eh, I usually spend about half of my time here deeply entrenched in calm, philosophical contemplation, and the other half in a blind and drunken state of retardation. That 50-50 rule not only keeps people guessing, but it's also great fun. I highly recommend it.

Sounds good. Sorry, but I'm quite volatile at the moment... and the last time I interacted with you, you seemed annoyed with me simply for making a similar post to what you made quite some time ago.

One thing I absolutely loathe around here though, is the whole 'I'm behind a keyboard, so I'm a philosopher' mentality that a lot of people carry. Not saying YOU do it, but surely you understand what I mean yeah?
bah humbug.

Yeah, I get it. Sadly I've been getting it for 20+ years, way back to the BBS and IIRC days. Scars form, nerves fray, life becomes easier to tolerate. One of the few benefits to getting older.

But when it comes to conspiracy stuff, it doesn't bother me. I did talk radio and freelance journalism for a couple of years and dipped my toe deeply into those dark waters. After resurfacing from the depths I discovered three important things.

1 - People who believe in conspiracies are crazy.

2 - People who do NOT believe in conspiracies are crazy.

3 - Due to being constantly around so many crazy people for so long, I feel that I may too have become infected with the virus and am no longer safe.

Trust me fam. A cat is more trustworthy than all those silly voices in your head telling you to take that pill. They don't know what they are talking about.

Si tacuisses, philosophus mansisses. Of course.

Had another 9/11 conspiracy talk with my stepfather just yesterday. Seems like he finally got the gist though. Still, I don't have a recipe for quarrying the crazy out of people's brains, because nothing really changed in the way these conversations went. There aren't any new angles to try in debunking, the new angles are coming from the conspiracy theorists who need to circle around the conspiracy faith. You stay calm, you repeat your feasibility arguments, you still make clear how the allegedly responsible parties still acted in a wildly unconstitutional and criminal manner those very years and beyond, but no, of course they didn't organize a 10,000 insider one year minimum planning ultimate logistics and secrecy masterpiece "inside job", using top secret explosives that aren't explosives, in order to make some buildings neatly fall onto themselves that would have done so much more spectacular damage if only they fell sideways, just with the goal to justify the kind of total war that they would repeat months later with the flimsiest of fantasy weaponry excuses.

I'm well aware what kind of blow it is when a good friend drifts in that direction. It's not a personal fault, and not even one of intelligence. It doesn't necessarily influence your relationship that much, though that will require restraint from both of you. I hope you can stay calm, and I hope one day that light bulb in your friend's head is set alight.
