Palestine: Prior to the advent of F-Zero, my central processing unit had become fully-operational.

Ixamyakxim: Woooowwooooww! Thank you so much! I haven't thought of this game in like 30something years! F*** tiny hovercrafts, f*** shitty racing models and f*** me not being able to make it like seven seconds after the start of the first level. F-Zero. Damn.
It is regrettable that your memories of playing the original are not exactly associated with positive emotion. Have you attempted to re-visit the game? If you possess little to no desire, BallisticNG may be an excellent alternative. I do not simply 'recommend' it, rather, I fully-endorse it.

The coronavirus pandemic had allowed for me to finally play F-Zero. It had not been too dissimilar to my introduction to the series, F-Zero: Maximum Velocity (2001), on the Game Boy Advance. Long ago, the latter had been quite useful in helping me to avoid being in the presence of my (unfortunately) currently still-living grandfather.

There are people here at any age, like me or you.
I like some games that are older than me.

Just kidding. :)
Most of us are older than most of Steam forums.
That's for sure.

Lone_Scout: Don't try to fool us by writing like the 90's teenagers
90's teenagers wouldn't care enough to ask everyone their ages.
I'm old enough that my first game console was boomerang-shaped (with two slider controls, one on either side), purchased at Sears, and played 4 versions of Pong.

I'm old enough to have played the original coffee table Space Invaders machines on my way home from School. Old enough to know that microtransactions and pay to win were there right from the start.

Old enough have heard that "gaming is doomed or dying or the consoles have ruined gaming" so many times that I no longer even take any notice.

Old enough to remember that the preferred way of playing action games on a home computer (like a C-64) was with a controller and not mouse and keyboard (probably because, no mouse)
.

Old enough to remember that games have always been a bit unfinished and buggy and sometimes never worked at all.

Old enough to know that a brand new game from Atari in 1980 cost over A$100, the equivalent modern price of over A$500 adjusted for inflation! Compared to a typical A$89 AAA game today. Old enough to know that gaming is actually cheaper than it's ever been.

Old enough to remember when being a gamer meant actually playing games and not just watching someone play a game on Twitch.

Old enough to remember when western game companies were allowed to make games with female characters that didn't have to look like Wildebeests, all without the gaming media falling upon them like they've committed war crimes.

Edit: By the way, the OP wouldn't happen to be a modern incarnation of "Fairfox" by any chance? I'm old enough to remember Fairfox.

^ The ultimate answer to your query is 42.

If you are hitchhiking across the Milky Way galaxy, I do know my way around. I am old enough to actually own my own "spacecraft." However, it is better described as a stationary mass, temporal displacement assemblage module which is powered by two, top-spin, dual-positive singularities which produce a standard, off-set Tipler sinusoid.

Would you like to play a game now, or see if Cyberpunk 2077 is quite fixed by that year?

Shmacky-McNuts: We have around 20 threads to fish for information on this forum as is and people enjoy giving scammers personal details.

Folks. It may seem innocuous, but STOP giving out personal information. Cripes!

This is how you get scammed!
You shouldn't have posted that mate, as they now have important info about you. LOL

Anyway, I'd be interested to see some of the profiles you've whipped up from all that freely shared info ... especially the one about me.
I'm at least 500 years old. I'm so old I still remember the attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
Take that scammer!
I'm old enough to remember when the NES came out in the USA.
