Posting here by the suggestion of a couple fans on the Giants:Citizen Kabuto specific forum area!

We at Rogue Rocket Games, founded by original Giants & MDK creator Nick Bruty and LucasArts alum Rich Sun are about to launch a Kickstarter campaign to create a spiritual successor to Giants & MDK! It's called First Wonder, and we recently brought a first look demo to PAX Prime. The Kickstarter is launching really soon, so if you loved Giants or MDK, please help us make a new game that will bring a lot of the spirit of this game back to life in a modern game.

You can find out more at first-wonder.com

We ourselves bought our running copy of Giants and MDK here on GoG, and appreciate that GoG has made it possible to play these games once again. We recently did a Twitch live stream where we played Giants and people were able to ask Nick about the game and the development of it live. That was fun and we'll probably try to do it again soon. The last feed is available to watch on our YouTube channel. (sorry for lack of links, I don't have the rep to post links here)

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and hope to see you on our community site!

Thanks for the link! Though at this point the animation test footage in there is super old, and we have much newer teaser clips from the PAX Prime demo on our YouTube channel

I'd back that. Giants is one of the finest gems on GOG that I missed back in the day. :)

Early Believer :

1st Wonder (Digital Copy) $20.00
1st Wonder (Backer Reward) $60.00
1st Wonder (Big Backer Reward) $150.00
This is probably too early to ask, but do you guys intend to bring it to GOG ?

Not yet. We haven't announced anything yet. Likely, it won't be public until the Kickstarter goes live.
However, that's happening very soon, so it won't be a mystery for long. These are just the Early Believer backer levels. There will be more choices for the full Kickstarter of course.

Too early to say. =)

Right now we're focusing on telling people about the game and getting some like-minded gamer support behind us. If it's important for our backers to bring it to GoG then we'll take that seriously!

What will be the system requirements of the game ?
Will you sell the soundtrack separately as a DLC ?
Will there be a Linux version ?

Wow thanks for all the questions! I'm glad it's interesting enough to ask... quick "answers":

System Reqs: Too early to tell. But the goal is to NOT make a game that has monster cutting edge system requirements, but still find creative ways to make it unique and beautiful looking.

Soundtrack: We have not announced anything about the soundtrack yet, but I know it's a popular add on among gamers, so we will likely do something with it.

Linux: TBD. Depends on gamer demand and technology support. We have supported Linux in the past, our previous game Gunpowder is available for Linux on Steam currently, so we've done it before on a simpler game. More on this once the Kickstarter goes live.

That's the best gaming related news I've heard in a long time :-)
nice to meet the guys that created a fantastic game. Love giants even to this day and still remember buying the game on release when i was in holiday in northern ireland. Love to see a spiritual successor to the game.
